Confidence help

Hey it's my second year of freestyle and I really like it. I decided that this year I was going to get really good and just try stuff. It was going really well for me and I was learning a lot until about 2 weeks ago. My confidence was high so i decided to just bomb into a pretty big jump without any previous experience with the jump. I overshot really badly and my feet hurt for like 2 weeks when I would walk around. Now I have no lingering injuries but I have really bad butterlies( or whatever you want to call it but a pit in my stomach) whenever I am riding into ANY feature including easy flat boxes that I know I could do with my eyes closed! It really sucks and is making skiing really stressfull and not fun for me. If any of you have suggestions it would be greatly appreciated and +k. Thanks

have fun! be confident. you are more likely to hurt yourself if you are worried about hurting yourself.. dont put that kinda energy out there. stay positive! some say skiing is 70% mental. most of the time people hurt themselves on the small stuff so you cant always be worried about hurting yourself

ski with friends who are just out having a good time and of a similar skill level. This helps me alot because you just end up doing stuff that you wouldn't do alone. When you get into the flow of things and your adrenaline gets pumping the nerves arn't as bad. This doesnt mean they go away completely though.

i always tell myself -whats your favorite thing to do? skiing thats right and if thats all you wanna do and you wanna get better hit the damn rail. and when i dont wanna do an urban rail i tell myself- you know your goona go home and beat yourself up for not hitting it plus you dont wanna be the loser who didnt hit it. in short your not goona get better unless you do it..

you need to hit that feature you wrecked on and defeat itdo it with a sworddominate itbondage itrape itnocuddling after.just A bangaway.

hey dude, i dont mean to sound like a dick, but what you did is just dumb.
just promise yourself that that won't happen again because you will speed check it a few times before you start throwing gnarly maneuvers. if you get the right speed, you wont get hurt that easily.
good luck bro. be smart.

The best way to build confidence for large features is to start small. You'll feel the most confident and comfortable going off big jumps if you can stomp the landing on a smaller jump 100% of the time. If you feel like you're not at the level where you should try to do something like going off a huge jump, then you're probably not.

I don't really see why kids think it's cool or whatever to just hit big jumps. If you don't know what you're doing than an injury is bound to happen. Start of small get your tricks down then go slowly progress to taking them bigger from there.

Thanks to everybody for they're comments they are all being taken into consideration. And I wasn't being an idiot and hitting a jump that I obviously couldn't do, the problem was the conditions had changed from the day before and I neglected to take note of the speed of the snow, hence overshoot. But thanks to everyone, this really helped. Plus K!!!!!!!

Self motivation. The fear is only in your head! Just go kill it when your at a park, afterbang everything, and you'll be like, "woa im the shit."

Confidence is everything haha.

The same thing happened to me after I crashed really hard on an urban rail. Its just a mental block. If you were hitting that jump the day before you overshot it with no problems, you can clearly do it again. You just need to not think about the crash and think about the times when you made it and you'll be fine.
