Confidence for Interview

I need help getting confidence for an upcoming interview.

I'm in my final year of my program of Marketing Management and live in Vancouver. One of my courses this semester involves working one-on-one with a company, solving a real-life marketing problem for them. The sponsoring company pays $500 to be the focus of this project, and in turns gets the chance to work with 3 or 4 driven future-marketers.

Anyways, I contacted one company, Color Magazine, which I have been reading for probably 5 or 6 years now. This magazine is seriously the reason why I got through high school. It's a skateboarding quarterly with a high focus on culture and art - this mag was basically designed for me. The thing is, this magazine is seriously fucking cool. Like, every "scene" thing thats worth going to in Van is put on by Color or somehow affiliated it seems. I feel like I'm not cool enough to work there, just because they're so cool.

I know I would be a good fit for them (more so than the rest of my team). I am passionate about my sport (skiing) but follow skateboarding as a subculture in relation to my own. I am also fiercely creative, driven, and artistic. I am PERFECT for them, but feel like I ain't shit.

So how the FUCK do I get the confidence to meet with their Editor in Chief next week for coffee? I'll be with three other team members, but this feels like a very individual thing for me. I want this SO badly and feel like a complete nort thinking about sitting down with someone who is so influential in the vancouver skate scene, and skating in general.

HOW HOW HOW HOW do i do it???

don't worry about it, be yourself, etc. you're cool enough so dont sweat that.
 
I have only met you met you once, and you were drunk, and while drunk you seemed very confident. My suggestion is to show up drunk.
 
i would say tell them what you said here but just fake a confidence. just remember to be calm and collective. just breath a lot and talk slow. let them know you have a passion for this shit. i think you may be surprised about how different some of the owners of their companies are. you may not be intimidated once you meet them.
 
just get out there, and throw down a business card that says

in all seriousness, just be yourself. from what you say, you seem a great match for them. act normally, and they will see this too. if not, screw em. Dont try to force it. there is nothing i hate more than someone trying too hard to be cool, especially if i know they already are. so just give it your all, speak genuinely, and then come back to NS when you get the job and claim it hard!

Yeah, be yourself... no one got a job there acting cooler than they actually are, those people got written off as tools. Take a couple shots before you go in to calm your nerves (remember a breathmint or it might cost you haha) and try not to think about what's at stake. My guess is you'll end up getting along with them pretty well.
