Conditions at Big Sky

Im heading out to Big Sky in two days and I just wanted to see how the conditions were. They are getting hammered with snow right now. How's the skiing off the tram, is it still pretty thin cover?
 
The bowl was skiing really nice the last time I was up there, and I heard some of the stuff off of Challenger was good if you could brave hitting a few rocks to get to it. As far as the tram goes, it's sketchy up top and ok once you get into some of the runs, but the only one you won't hit rocks on is the couloir. I'll be up there tomorrow and maybe sunday, so look for the guy in black on bright orange pro riders.
 
Thanks Bro. Im not to worried about the bowl, but I will be riding my brand new Mantras and the last thing I need is to run over some rocks off the top. I fly in sunday afternoon so I won't be on the mountain then. But I will be there all next week.
 
its getting better. today was real nice. still a bit rocky in parts, but starting to develop a nice base. the bowl was sweet today. the hill to the right of the triple was a bit sketchy. even some of the lower runs had pretty good snow today. hopefully we get more snow this weekend.
 
its d- umping right now. weather.com is calling for 5-8 inches tonight and 5-8 more tomorrow. should be quite nice. too bad the high for tomorrow is 3 degrees. oh well.
 
Moonlight has been doing good lately too. If you want dope untracked tree runs and shoots, come to moonlight. But if the tram is your game, go to BS.
 
Just got back. Conditions were horrible monday- wednesday morning. The 8 inches of snow was definitely nice. I see what you guys mean about the rocks though, definitely have some nice gauges in the bottom of my skis. Im heading back out there again in two weeks, hopefully they will have some more snow. Oh and if you are looking for a place to ski off the top, DEFINITELY ski Marx or Lenin, they are 100% the best skiing on the mountain so far (besides the bowl)
 
Bah, the couloir almost always has the best snow on the mountain. I bet Marx and Lenin are super baked right now.
 
It's not a big deal, I'd rather just eat lunch with the patrollers up top and ski the couloir than take a cat track 3 miles back to the bottom and have to ride Swify and the Triple again. Anyways, all the good skiing's up Hyalite right now:

How's the rest of the top looking? I heard marx and lenin were pretty nicely wind packed and holding pretty good. I am just hoping for some snow this week.
 
it snowed from like wed-fri last week or something like that. not a ton, but enough to make everything soft and carvable again. on sunday, when it was starting to get real warm, the snow was starting to get a little sticky, and it was even warmer yesterday, so it might be getting a little sketchy. im skiing tomorrow, so ill try to give an update
 
It was super shitty at Moonlight today, and that's on the north side to give you an idea. I think the only snow that had a chance of surviving the heat would be the top half of the couloir.
 
I'm from Illinois and im headed to Big Sky this weekend, gonna check out MSU too, is there anything I should check out specifically? thanks, i checked the weather and it said some snow showers so hopefully we'll get some accumulation.
 
big sky wasnt great today. everything was pretty hard. it softened up a bit later in the day. the bowl was ok. it was like 42 degrees. maxfreeride, where in illinois are you from?
 
I'm from crystal lake, There is actually a kid that is a sophomore from crystal lake that goes there, Sam Hanssler, i dont know if any of you guys know him.
