Conditioning for park skiing

I just switched from all mountain riding to park stuff. I've been working hard on rails and stuff. I'm still pretty much shit at skiing, but I have 180's down, and I can hit rails pretty easy, I'm nowhere close to 270 on or switchups yet, but w/e I've got a lot of winter left to learn.

I skied 6 days this week, plus doing group projects for school and going to a rave. I'm sore as hell, I've been downing asprin like crazy.

Whats a good workout routine, with free weights, crunches, yoga, whatever... that will condition me for skiing. I'm sort of in that phase where i'm either skiing, or waiting to go skiing, and I need some exercises that will help me out during the waiting to go skiing times.

thanks

I've got a demo cd, and I bought the artists work off iTunes the next day. Check out Dagen "Destroy everything and get everybody naked" on amiemusic its a pretty bomb song.

I'll try to find someone who got pics lol, my camera was out of bats from recording ski video at -10 below

Stretching and Core Strenght are the two key ingredients to skiing.

Stretch before every day of skiing, and after if you can. Stretch on your off days, stretch whenever...just do it properly (ie warm up first)

Core strength is huge too....abs, and back

did you roll at the rave that would wear you down alot. but lifting wieghts helps alot like alot of leg and core lifts and being in shape helps too. but skiing 6 days and partying would wear anyone down.

dehydration is big for me, muscles dont stretch without water.

drinking booze or rollin will def. tear you up.

I was totally straight at the rave. 3 days of sleep deprivation had me high on life.

Wall sits and stuff sound good. I need to work on my stretching. I can't even touch my toes. I'm gonna start doing situps and pushups again.

You say you're still pretty much shit at skiing?I would take a lesson, being a good intermediate/advanced skier will help you more than you realize in the park.
However, stretch lots, jump, do spins off flat ground, crunches, squats.

I wake up take a shower than stretch for 15mins, than before i ski that day a stetch again for 15mins. you will become more flexible and u wont b so sore as easily... it also helps with grabs and its just a healthy thing to do

Nah, i'm shit at park skiing. I'm decent at alpine skiing. I used to race slalom when I was littler. I snowboarded for a while and lost some of my technique, but I can make my way down a mountain.

Leg workouts if you plan on hiking a lot or even everyday skiing. Core strength workouts for better spinning. Stretching before skiing or you'll be hurting after. Know your limits and don't overdo yourself if you know your skiing 6 times a week. Good Luck!
