Concussion

if you actually go to a legit neurologist then they will test your brain, test your movement etc. in order to diagnose you, and/or know when you can be cleared.

SERIOUSLY: see a legit neurologist. you will thank me later. i had a concussion last spring, and for the following 2 months i had so much trouble in school. couldn't focus, got horrible headaches etc. without a neurologist i would have never known what it was, nor would i have known when i could be cleared for sports. my concussion was a moderate one.

honestly, throw some money down for one appointment. if it's a minor concussion, then you're fine, and you won't have to go back. BUT if it's worse, you will be extremely happy you socked out that money and visited the doctor.

do you remember the actress natasha richardson (played the mom in parent trap with lindsay lohan) that died last march from a skiing accident ? all she did was fall, not even hard, and died because of internal bleeding in her skull. if only she had gone to a hospital she could have been saved. so maybe going to the doctor after getting a concussion (even if you don't think its that serious) wouldn't be such a bad idea. you never know how serious or not something can be

THANK YOU.

head injuries are serious. don't take your injury with a grain of salt. i'm not saying youre going to die, but go see a doctor. you aren't a physician, don't try to diagnose yourself. go to an expert.

yeah i've actually been thinking about that lady lately, my concussion isnt super bad its like a 6 out of 10, 10 being a coma

I've done the whole neurologist thing, it's a waste of time and money.

He has a concussion, he doesn't need someone to tell him that. He will more than likly not listen to doctors orders about sports so he doesn't need to be given clearance.

There is no treatment for a concussion so why bother.

I've been to two.

I think your a bitch who likes to go to specialists. Do you think you're special because your parents have good insurance and bring you to doctors for concussions?

OP sounds like a legit guy who understands doctors aren't always the answer.

yeah im insured and all but sometimes it isnt necessary, i've been feeling much better today, thanks for all the help guys

I had a lot of concussions, I got really unlucky this year and ended up hitting my head a few too many times. The most important thing is rest, give your brain a rest from stimulating activity, don't get stressed out because I found it just gives you a really bad headache. If possible just lie in bed and read or just sleep thats the best thing you can do. Try and eat the best you can, 3 meals a day and just as healthy as possible for you. You can go to your doctor if you just want to go talk to someone about it, personally I did a bunch of different kinds of treatment and ended up going to a concussion specialist (i can give you name if you want). If your looking for pills, Omega-3's are fish oil that help your brain recover. Just try not to bump your head on shit and do the things I just said and you should be back on the snow in no time.

You're an idiot. Seriously. No head injury is something to take lightly. Even if it's just a mild concussion, the victim definitely needs to see a professional. There could be additional impacts caused by the concussion. There could be some additional problems. Case closed. Seriously, head injuries are not at all something to take lightly.

i took a zerospin to flat today and you can imagine what happened. im almost positive i got a concussion plus it feels like i have a head cold and it sounds like i have water in my ear but i havent swam..... idk lol i prly should go to the hospitol
