what are the specs on the computers that you guys edit on? i just ordered the parts for mine, hopefully ill get everything by the begining of next week and have it built by next friday.

-athlon xp 2500+ barton core

-western digital 80gb 7200rpm 8mb buffer harddrive

-shuttle mn31n motherboard

-512mb crucial pc3200 ram

-liteon CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive

-turtle beach santa cruz sound card

-sapphire radeon 9600 128mb video card

-logitech Z640 speaker set up

hopefully by after christmas ill get a 2nd 120gb harddrive and 512mb more memory.

That system is in my parents' house though - they wouldn't let me take it with me to my new apartment. I got an athlon 1300+, motherboard, 20Gb HDD and case for £20

(UK) and a CD-RW drive for another £10 from guys at college, and 256Mb DDR for £30 on eBay. It won't run Premiere but Photoshop should be cool on it.

mines shit...its like a 6 yr old dell...and we just cleared it and put in a 120gig and the old 10gig and added about 200mb of RAM...and its still pretty fucked up

to those who are building computer right now: SATA is a fucking nightmere! You need all sorts of retarded drivers for somethign that should work right out of the box. Sure it's fast, but i dont really know if it's worth the hassle and extra price right now.

Serial ATA came with the motherboard I wanted, which I got a big deal on. I needed a fast fucking board with good onboard audio. So I got the Asus A7N8X Deluxe. I agree to a certain extent with Yeti, its not really worth the extra price tag but if you're the guy who needs everything top of the line, it does make things faster.

my computer:HP, 749 mhz intel celeron processer, 192 ram, cd burner, 30gb hard drive, ati radeon 9000 pro 64mb graphics card. ms paint and photoshop 7, windows xp. 19 inch cheapo brand monitor

my dads mac:dual 1.25 ghz g4 processers, 1gb ram, 160 gb hard drive, superdrive(cd+rw/dvd+r), ati radeon 900 pro 64mb graphics card. photoshop 7, illustrator 10, painter 6, golive 6, indesign 2, microsoft office 10, and much more software. dual opperating systems so u can switch back from osx 10.3 to os 9.2 and a 19 inch lacie monitor which has super awesome quality. and as far as pripherals(cant spell) go theres a film scanner, a really nice regular scanner, epson stylus 3000 printer, epson stylus c82 printer.

the 2 80s are faster, where the 500 is good for normal programs and mp3s and the like

the monitors on go-l.com are better than dual 30's so if i was building a super expensive system like this id get one of those...
