Computer Speakers Buzz - Solutions?

I'm working on a Powerbook G4 and I've got some Cambridge Soundworks speakers with a small powered subwoofer. The speakers always buzz and sometimes randomly it gets super loud, enough to drown out whatever music I'm listening to. The buzzing completely stops when I unplug my computer from it's power adapter. Anybody know what the problem might be? Any solutions? +K to all.

u have a bad ground with your headphone jack- this cause static which means buzzing- you should try spinning the adapter around- or replacing the the headphone port on ur mac- thats if its all the speakers- if its only one then ur magnets dieing

Yea what he said, one of the connections is bunk. Look for any wires that could show signs of wear. I bet if you go through every connection you will find the one by wiggling it and you will hear the problem get worse. I had Klipsch ProMedia speakers that did the same thing whenever I changed the volume...it would introduce static.

OR some cell phones while in use can cause static on speakers but that will only be temporarily.

Moegain found the solution to stop the noise.

Or you could just unplug the power to it also.....

Or quit using analog fucking connections and be a real man and go optical. JK, but optical for home audio use is awesome.

thanks to you and cheezebo but i still dont really know how to fix my problem. i know which connection is the shitty one. there is a volume on the audio cord that goes from the computer to the subwoofer and when i wiggle that thing around the static goes crazy. how do i fix this? and why is it only when i have my comp plugged in?
