alrighty so i just spilled a fair amount of juice on my 1 year old macbook. all over the keyboard. and then i wiped it up as fast as i could and it worked for a bit but then my keys started not working. like only three work. it keeps typing in random letters and numbers and shit into whatever it can find and making that annoying noise. is my computer completely fucked or is there a way to fix it? im gonna bring it to a mac store on tuesday when i get back home. but could anybody share some knowledge on this? is there anything i can do or do i just leave it be?

i know im stupid as fuck for spilling shit on my keyboard. so no flaming please . thank you

Turn it off for at least 24 hours to let all the moisture dry and avoid short circuiting. Unfortunately, it's probably shot though. Juice and other sticky liquids have a tendency to destroy electronics.

yeah, turning it on was probably a dumb move. i'd take off as many parts as you can, set them aside, and like the other guy said, let it dry out for like 24 hours. i've washed phones and spilled shit on my computer and that usually works for me.

dont know about macbook, but i once spillled hotdogjuice over my dell lappie, i wiped it off immediately but some keys werent working, so i pried the keys off and underneath i wiped it clean with a damp cloth and let it dry, i then pushed the keys back in and it works fine now!
good luck, in the worst case you'll need to get new keyboard installed...

yeah, and if it was a "fair amount of juice" you might want to do as mentioned above and switch it off and take as much apart as possible, you could probably take out your cd drive or atleast open it.....
mine was just a splash, i didnt even turn it off ....

thanks to the people that have been helpful. and i didnt turn it back on, i spilled the juice on it while it was on and then i wiped it off and it was fine for a bit before it started doing weird shit. then i turned it off. i took out the battery and most of the keys, im gonna leave it off for 24 hours. thanks for the help guys

pour out a big thing of rice and put the laptop in the rice

try taking off keyboards and backplates andn stuff if you are tech-savy... dont if you arent

the rice will absorp a lot of moisture

the other day i spilled an entire cup of water onto my laptop keyboard and i left it sitting out and it worked fine after 20 hours or so, it should be fine
