possibly wrong section but i have a gf in germany waiting to skype with me and my laptop is all fucked up, whenever i try and open skype it says this program doesnt have a program associated with it, and on the desktop when you click it says file not found. whenever i try and open internet explorer it asks which program i would like to use to open it, i just push cancel and it opens.

so obviously my comp is fucked. when i try and download skype when i try and run the download program the which program would you like to use to run it pops up and its all just the basic programs like IE and windows media and shit.

i did have a virus but i updated my virus protection and my computer runs perfect other than the fact of this problem that im having, anyone possibly know. sorry for the jumble thread i just miss her and would love to see her. shes been gone a week and i wont see her in person again until november :(
 
shitty, my roommate has a lap top with skype but its password protected and hes at his parents in MA so im fucked. beat. and yes the long distance relationship is already killin' me and shes only been gone a week, but its the girl i want to marry, so its worth it.
 
go into add remove programs and uninstall skype if its still there. Reboot your machine and redownload and install it.
As for internet explorer I say just delete the icon and never use it again. Download chrome or firefox
 
Could be a spyware or malware issue. Try downloading spybot seach and destroy and avg free and run both scans. The uninstall and reinstall skype. God speed.
