I know there're some computer geniuses on this site...i am not one of them, so here goes. I have a Mac G3 powerbook, 4 years old or so, that has virtually run out of all hard drive space. That is, it is just full. However, i know that the 300 or so mp3s on it (which is basically it) can't be taking up all the space. SO, do any of you know any tricks from freeing up space, any suggestions, etc???/ Sorry i know its a long question

file compression might help (temporary solution)

I've got something in my front pocket for you

Why don't you reach on in my pocket and see what it is

Then grab on to it

Its just for you

Give a little squeeze and say 'How do ya do'

you wont need adaware -macs dont get spyware as much as pcs do. im pretty sure there are only a handfull of spyware progs for macs while there are hundreds for pcs

Backup your files, get notes of all your programs, format the drive and reinstall OS-X.

^agree

not really a total newbie, but i lost all my posts, and ya, I left newschoolers for a while

Get a bigger hard drive, ghost the original contents across. Thats what I do on a PC anyway.

Otherwise, format and re-install, or get an external drive and move your non-core data there
