Computer Chairs???

Hey everyone, I'm renting a house for this upcoming school year and I need a chair for sitting at my computer, doing homework, and all that other jazz.

I've been looking on Amazon but there are thousands of different chairs with a lot of mixed reviews.

What would ya'll suggest?

I'm just looking for a comfortable chair at a decent price, particularly under $100. Mesh, leather, I don't really care, I'm just not trying to break the bank.

Thanks.

Any old or new chair will work. I got mine for free, someone had a spare and I yoinked it. Not super nice, not super comfy, but it works. Don't bust your balls on a high class chair. As I always like to point out, you will only know luxury when you are introduced to it. You'll only want a nice ass chair once you sit in one, even if the one you had was fine. Same goes for computer monitors, TVs, resolution even. People were happy with 1080p, but now it's seen as obsolete, since there are things like 4K out there.

/end stupid rant before it gets to long

Got mine at goodwill for 5 bucks, not amazing but it is actually pretty comfy.

This. Check out local thrift stores. Some of them actually have a decent selection of used office chairs for under 10 bucks. 90 bucks saved!

Or craigslist/ksl depending where you are. Lots of free/cheap stuff.

Dang that's buttery. Guess I'll have to hit up my local thrift store

Standing desk. You'll be expected to sit in class etc. Do yourself a favor and don't sit down when you can avoid it.

Drive around your neighborhood and look for chairs with a free sign on them. If not check out your local buy sell trade websites. If all else fails Craiglist. You should be able to find something decent for next to nothing. You can usually find something wicked if you just do a little bargain hunting.

THERE IS ONLY ONE

All hail the Ikea Torkel

If you went through university without one of these bad boys you're either rich or gay

If you need to ask there's only one option. (Actually two) Eames Aluminium Group, from Herman Miller or Vitra. Executive chair, with casters so you can drift around your desk. Of course with the reclining/hydraulic base so you can pump that bad boy up, lean back and put your feet on the desk like an asshole.

Also, lowback, highjacks are for silly people. And get the Hopsack fabric version, the leather looks sweet in all those big conference rooms but if you actually start using it more then once a week it will sag down lower then old Polish mineworker's ballsack. (Mesh is too firm)

If you don't want that go Dotcombubble style and get that plastic Herman Miller Aero, do remove the lumbar support that feels as if someone is kicking you straight in the kidney's.

I have nothing but fond memories of one of these babies

Akward at first but super comfortable in the end

Called kneeling chairs and I'm sure amazon has some for a decent price

Some lady grabbed the best computer chair that was at the thrift shop while I was testing out the other chairs, damn. I should have rolled around in the chair while I was looking at the other ones.

I might end up driving there, I'm in Rochester so I'm not too far away, hour and 15 tops. Maybe I'll go check it out this weekend and see what they have to offer.

Oh you don't know me well enough. 500 isn't going to get you a real Aluminium group. I know that, I actually own several Aluminium Group chairs, Vitra of course, we Europeans have hard acces with Herman Miller.

Fucking rekt ^ but does anyone have any experience with the MALKOLM from Ikea, it looks to be the slightly nicer version of the TORKEL.

Well my friend, it is safe to say you have proven me wrong. Terribly sorry for the lack of professionalism I showed earlier. I'll see myself out

Mother of god, I invested in a used Herman Miller Aeron a couple of years ago and it changed my life.

Sure, its like $1,200 new here, but you can find a used one for $600 or $700. Changes your entire desk experience though.

Next step: The Envelop.

Not a bad choice. However the TORKEL is superior to everything, no matter the price tag.
