compressing mp3's

hey, um... how can i lower the bitrate or whatever it's called for my mp3's so they take up less room? Anyone?

i totally forgot the name of the program, but i wouldn't suggest doing that unless your really straped for hd space and if thats the case i suggest going and buying a shitty 20g hard drive for like 30 bucks jsut for yoru mp3s

i want to compress them so i can fit more mp3's onto my mp3 player... don't care if the sound quality goes down.

um you could make them an audio cd then rip them back to your harddrive at the bitrate you want i guess

why don't you uncompress them into wav files then into wma format. Far superior compression rates...and your mp3 player can probably support them.
