Comprehensive Ski/Board Calendar...

So last year I was searching frantically for dates for different rail jams and am comps to compete in, dates of dew tour, x games, events, ski resorts opening and closing dates as well as events they hold etc. etc. as well as movie premiers. and it was crazy tedious to go to each website to check, then I would forget the date a day later... and I missed a ton of events.

so I decided to put together a calendar as i hear of each event so that I have it all in one place.but then I thought, why not share it. and get help from everyone i know. (including event descriptions, times, location, etc!)

I am thinking of putting together a website for it, or maybe a blog. I dunno. but I will definitely allow people to view to calendar. I am doing it on Google Calendar and its set to public.

I only have a few things entered in (Snowboard on the Rocks, Blackout dates for season pass next year, Closing day of Abay, Winter X-Games 16, Euro X, and 2014 Olympics) which I intend to update when event times and dates are released as well.

also, I made a new gmail account for this which you can email with dates of events I should add to it.

Its all Colorado based but I am definitely willing to expand. (when it comes to movie tours and rail jam tours and other comp tours I plan on adding the different locations anyway)

Forgot to mention. basically every attempt at this have sucked.... snowhapps.com? no. none of them ever have what i am looking for.

working on a better client than google calendars to work with, but its a start.
 
well first I want to make a calendar that the freeskier/snowboarders would use. i want to know when the competitions are that i want to compete in. I also want to know when movie premiers are going on in my area. (categories for different areas in colorado are probably gunna happen) in snowhapps you can't hide the shit you dont care about....

the worst part about snowhapps is the format. so visually unappealing. you cant tell the difference between anything either. the colors. UGH you NEED colors and categories, more than just ski vs snowboard.

and you cant add it to your own account.. with google calendars you can add specific events to your own calendar (even ical) or the entire calendar. with snowhapps, you can either add your own events into the website individually, or you have to go through and add each event individually from snowhapps to your other account.

you dont get any updates/notifications, with g cal you can get sms if you wanted, emails if you wanted, pop-ups. etc. . you cant seperate them by category you cant show or hide movie premiers vs. rail jams vs. slopestyles. you cant visually see time-slots in a week to plan in more detail, you have to read each event in snowhapps to figure out which one starts when, and you cant see how many hours they overlap.

it also NEVER shows stupid flippin event times. so annoying, so you have to go to each individual site to figure out what time you register, or what time mens board slope is going on vs mens ski pipe etc. all you know is that Dew Tour is going on, not specifics...
