Competition Scene in the UK?

Hi.

I'm just getting into freeskiing, raced on dryslope a fair bit though. I was wondering what the standard in freestyle competitions in the UK are like?

I'm also intrigued as to where and when competitions are held; is there anywhere to get up date information on that sort of thing somewhere on the net?

Also, I'm going to be in Edinburgh and Glasgow over summer so hit me up if you want to ski.

Cheers guys.

Most of the dryslopes around have some sort of freestyle comp every once in a while but it is difficult to find a list with all of different comp info on.

Are you at uni? because if so then comps are much easier as you enter all those ones without any hassle.

Yeah I'm at uni, will hopefully be at a decent enough standard to not embarrass myself at SUDS and BUDS next year.

Shame there isn't somewhere with some comprehensive information as to what events are going on.... Someone should possibly get on that!

Do you know roughly what standard the competitions that do run are at, like what tricks are people sending?

Cheers man.

Excellent, thanks! Not much on which isn't racing, but I guess that's because winter is over really. I assumer there is something similar for England as well, might be worth a wee road trip at some point?

Also back to the other question, what's the standard of competition at these events like?

You're best bet is to find out which dry slopes are in the UK and send them an email/ message on Facebook and see what they say. Time consuming but there won't be a lot on in summer anyway.

ive judged a few of the uni comps, there are usually a few guys that really pretty good, 2s on, k-feds and 4s off, rodie 5 on jumps and stuff like that but the general standard is usually fairly low. Most people can front 2 and spin 360s!!

Yeah id agree with this came 3rd at busc (claim!) with a couple of cork 7s and some pretty diabolical rail tricks.

Vibes at the uni events is sick too.
