Commiting suicide is selfish...

does anyone else realize how fucked up that statement is? you know whats selfish? to stay alive no matter how shitty you feel just so your family wont have to expierience your death.i just heard someone say that again and it fucking pisses me off
 
oh i found that out 1st hand...a friend of mine that was a girl tried twice and i had to go to her house and stop her both times..its so not worth it
 
I'm sick of people who 'fail' at killing themselves, that's bullshit, they are just attention whores.
 
so staying alive but feeling like you want to put a bullet in your head everyday is better? its a slow death. fuck family. they will go on living, if they expierienced one day in the life who is seriously depressed they woudl understand. and if it gets to the point where you have to kill yourself then your family doesnt truely care.
 
If you want to die so bad, strap a bomb to your chest and go blow up Kim Jong, you'll be a national hero.

I hope you nver have to go through it, but imagine a good friend or family member ending their life; Now imagine how you, their parents, their friends, and their community feels. They've lost something that didn't have to happen. Unless you're living in Africa or somewhere that you have no medicine, no health, and no chance of life, you have nothing to complain about or to kill yourself over that can't be changed or atleast compensated for.
 
hes right, what your big problem? gf broke up with you, bad grades, no friends? even if its something as big as the loss of a family member you can still live, there are so many things to enjoy in life.
 
that's actually completely backwards. staying alive even though you feel shitty because you don't want your family to go through your death is a very generous thing, not selfish at all.
 
its not just feeling "shitty" man. has anyone who has replied in this thread ever been depressed our suicidal? its not something you can just change.
 
tell ya what then bed, kill yourself and you won't be able to see your family mourn. I'm sure it'll all work out. Just make sure to bring a towel.
 
hey man we've all felt really crummy before, even downright depressed. but the point is there is no real reason to kill yourself, it's just not rational. if you need help through something, find someone you trust to help you. if you seriously need help, there are professionals and medication to help you. it's just stupid to end your own life.
 
i forgot you can only make threads on ns about partying and how to knit. heres a question to you assholes, is it ever reasonable to kill yourself? how shitty does your life have to be before you can end it?

dude ur hella depressed its obvious after reading this. ive been through some intense shit but it all passed. someday you can be happy again so why are you pretending liek ur gonna kill urself, cuz if you were really gonna do it you wouldnt be on ns. i mean, everyone has to hang on the cross every now and then and the people who can push through it are truely great. i mean, whatever ur going through right now, its gonna pass. everyone has been through this at some point in their life but we jsut chose not to talk about it, so sack up life is tough and ur here on ur own
 
i second that! how do you fail at killing yourself. if you try to kill yourself and don't, you suck sooo much more than you can even understand. you suck so much you'd have to kill yourself like 10 times over then let me kill you another 5 times over before you can even take care of how much you suck.
 
It doesnt matter if committing suicide is selfish or cowardly. You'll be dead. You won't feel bad about how other people feel, you won't be suffering anymore because you are dead.

I'm not saying committing suicide is logical or a solution to anything but I hate when people say it is selfish.

Now some people believe there are consequences in the afterlife for committing suicide but thats not really what we're debating here.
 
Well in the back of your mind you will know how hurt your family and friends will be (if you have any)
 
if anything, its selfish to want someone to continue suffering so much that they want to end thier life, just so that you dont have to grieve for a little bit.

The statement "suicide is selfish" is retarted at best. It's just smething people say because they are afraid of having to deal with a little grief.
 
(not to endorse suicide, but the statement is a non-point.. maybe there are other arguements, but that is not one of them)

i was just watching some thing about people committing suicide by jumping off the golden gate bridge. some guy did it and didnt die. akso some hot chick i knew tried kllling herself by drinking bleach and didnt die, just threw up alot

 
Fuck you homo.. have you ever experianced a suicidal person before or have had a family member die? Suicide is the easy way out. You can fix depression but you cant fix someone killing themselves... Please mature just alittle and stop acting like your 13. If you ever talk to someone you care about and who is suicidal let me know because your feeling towards this will change... for now grow up.
