Coming Up On 1 Year Without Soda ( or any other carbonated beverage)

I've actually been doing this dame thing for a while. I just lost all desire to drink pop now. It just kinda sounds gross now. Hard to explain.

I was pretty badly overweight up until the summer after 7th grade (i'm a sophomore now), then i cut out soda and fast food for soccer. I lost like 15 pounds that summer, got in the best shape i'd ever been in, and felt all around great. I went a little over a year without soda, but one day i had an orange Fanta and couldn't drink the damn thing. It tasted like pure sugar, it was so bad. I started drinking soda again a little while after that, and i haven't really let myself go, but i definitely don't feel good. But anyway, me and my friend are going for a month without meat. We started yesterday and i'm not gonna drink any soda either during that time and see how healthy i feel on january first. Best of luck to anyone else who's cutting soda out of their life, it's not really that hard, just don't drink one and tell yourself it's only one, and it's nota big deal. You'll start breaking all of your unhealthy decisions down like that.

i don't know if i could do it myself. although my friend grew up never drinking soda because his mom was a dietician. so he just doesn't enjoy it. he still drinks beer and juice though hah.

Just water for me, occasionaly milk. I don't have any desire to drink soda. The one exception being I really like root beer if I am eating pizza. haha.

ha, yea i'm one of those who decided to try this too. I'm at a month right now, not too hard. I already feel a little better actually. Only problem is having to eat at a cafeteria each night, where of 10 drinks, 8 are soda.

i dont drink it at all. ive probably had about one cans worth of soda in my life. ive never been handle the carbonation.

good job on loosing the weight though

i give it up every year for lent. ya i know lame. but it works. one year i gave it up for like 3 months or so.

You've inspired me. I'm going to try this, starting right now. I've been going out for lunch for the last 2 months, and had maybe a liter of soda every day. I know i've gained weight.

I'll try to go 'til christmas first, and see how it feels! +K

It is. It's terrible for your teeth and corn syrup is really disgusting! Congrats, I don't drink much soda.

It sounds like you're craving sweetness? I usually go for chocolate milk, orange juice, or lemonade (preferably one lower in sugar or diluted or even homemade). If you need carbonation though, I dunno

haha, you know thats not true.

and yeah i dont really drink soda. if i want one ill drink it, but i rarely want one

that's sick man congratulations

i'm definitely gonna think about trying this

i might still drink milk and OJ tho, idk

without arizona iced tea or snapple in my life, that will suck

maybe i'll just cut out soda and gatorade and milkshakes and fast food

its valid for people who would rather wait to do it when there supposed to considering you dont need it and its really not worth risking the possible college selections or job selections all becuase you got smashed as a kid and then im not saying you will cause trouble but i know a lot of people who got fucked over becuase of it

meat is not bad for u at all i mean if u eat a huge amount of meat it can add to weight gaining exept only if u eat a little its good for u gives u protein and watnot plus if ur doing any sort of lifting you should def be eating some sort of meat....but anywys respect on fastfood i hate that shit

Well i'm not so much doing it because meat is bad or something, i'm just trying it out. I eat a lot of red meat, so i figured i'd see if i can go a month without it. I don't really lift, but i do some off season soccer work outs. I can get protein elsewhere. It can't hurt to give it up for a month. And yeah, my friend just got high and went to McDonalds for a QP. Fucker gave up after two days lol.

im guessing everyone who calls it soda is american? all us canucks call it pop. that wasnt a negative comment at all just a statement. is it weird to you americans to say pop as soda is weird to canadians?

btw props on your 1 year accomplishment.

i dont drink alot of soda (maybe one a month) but i drink ton of gatoraid cuz my doctors said i need lots of electrolytes and salt (just me personally, not everyone).

+ karma on your purple nomis icon For i have boughten the full purple emboss puff the magic jacket suit (-=

i call it pop. im from chicago. i think it depends what part of the country your from

nice man, props.

My own story here is that its been 11 months without alchohal in my system. and probally a month withough pop. im trying really hard on reducing the pop, and its working

This is a little confusing. What is the average amount of soda you guys drink cause I have one like every 2 weeks.

ive always really ate healthy. Whole grain foods fresh food nothing processed etc. I also LOVE kashi. Its just my metabolism sucksssssss. I do brazilian jui jitsu so if you didnt know that it takes extreme hydration and flexabilty and with soda and all that sugar in my system wasnt going to help my skill at all. But all it really was was to help take a load off my metabolic rate and it seemed to work for me. Dont get me wrong i love arizona iced tea to death even though i havent tasted it in almost a year.( i plan on having one on my bday)

it doesnt suck to be me. It is a sheer lifestyle choice. and personally i couldnt feel any better right now

IT HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN 1 YEAR and 1 day WITHOUT SODA OR ANY CARBONATED BEVERAGEEEE WOOOT. plus i just turned sixteen dankkkk!

drinking milk as a effiecent source of calcium will leech calcium from you bones actually. Bannanas and some things like walnuts have a significant source of calcium

Man I tried doing that once. I made it about two months and then I broke and drank a coke....And it was by far the best coke i had ever drunkin....drunk..drank....yeah best one I ever drank.

...im sorry im drunk
