Coming Up On 1 Year Without Soda ( or any other carbonated beverage)

So november is month 11 for me without drinking any form of soda or carbonated beverage. I Have gone this 1 Year without drinking any other fluid besides water. After this 1 year i will move my drink juices now to water and juices. If all you out there are wondering ... How can i lose weight ( if you are overweight)? Well I weighed 200 pounds and within 7 months i lost 40 healthy pounds. I have really lost all neeeds wants temptation or desires for soda and dont see why i should drink it
 
haha my buddy needed to cut weight for pop warner football (15 lbs) so he stopped drinking soda and after 2 weeks he was down to weight, shits bad for you
 
i'm coming up to about 1 hour since my last coke. really tempted to get another. the little cafe downstairs has plenty of cold, crisp cokes just waiting for indulgence
 
Haha doesnt mean i wont drink alchohal when i am of age and can actually get in a club
 
thats crazy i dunno if i would have the will power to do that, but i might try for like a month one time and see how i do. good for you though
 
That's pretty sick dude, it's good that you're making healthy choices. I don't think I'd ever be able to do that, I couldn't drop beer and the occasional soft drink. I'm just curious, how much of it were you drinking before you stopped?
 
Thats so cool man. I can usually go about a week or so but I always need a redbull or something...could never go without one for more than a month..I am addicted
 
Probably the way any other teen drinks it . Energy drinks and mountain dew and friends houses basically. Just not even thinking probably how most people do. And for those of you who want to try stopping its really all not that hard after the 1st month. as long as you say no to it for the first month you should be good
 
i just dont drink soda, it was never in my house growing up so i never liked it, I'll have my occasional root beer because that shit is great. But you said you drank only water for one year? What about milk, where did you get your calcium from? If you haven't been drinking milk or taking calcium supplements you are going to have some very fragile bones
 
Yea man, after a while its pretty easy. Saves money too since water is free at restaurants and you get free refills. The reason i stopped drinking pop was because i was trying to get rid of my acne, hasen't really helped that much, but i feel a lot healthier since i've stopped.
 
Wow, it's hard to believe you lost 40 pounds if you were just an average drinking. Still, that's dope!
 
Props to you dude. I am going on two months with drinking just water and milk. My belly was just getting a little too ridiculous, and had to do something. Good to hear those were your results.
 
carbonated beverages are crucial to your survival. how else are you supposed to have VRBs, G&Ts, and R&Cs? CRUCIAL!
 
If I go into a convenience store I always head for the $1 Arizonas. I've been drinking arizona iced tea my whole life although this whole $1 craze has made it alot easier to get ahold of. I rarely drink soda but I love mixing seltzer with juice. I'm 6'1 155 and have been 150-160lbs since I was 12.
 
i did that. and then i cut out juices, lost another 20 right there. if you limit your juice and drink no soda your metabolism goes way up. its hard for me to gain anything now. i dont see whats wrong with carbonated beverages though. anything liquid with added sugar is bad, doesnt matter if its carbonated.
 
all you pussies that are saying soda is bad for you are dumb, sure if you drink it every day its bad and you might gain some weight, but if your not a fatty its ok to have a couple sodas a week, dont be afraid of soda kiddies, it wont kill you
 
To answer questions above. I Took a 100mg calcium supplement every 2 days, mainly because I took vitamins to make me focus clear my mind and purify my body ones such as ginko b. and others (vitamin e etc.) And no I do not eat fast food. I Also for most of the weight loss part I drank a decent amount of water a day strictly becuase that was the process i wanted to undergo. I would carry a 1 gallon jug with me to school and have it finished before i left. Others say it would flood my body but i disagree. the body needs water to survive ( 8 glasses a day or a gallon) To make you body perfom at optimum level you need hydration
 
i don't even like soda, i'd say i drink some form of soda like once a monthi drink mostly water, sobe, gatorade, and viamin water
 
Props to Icecoast though, I sure as hell couldn'y only drink water for that long.

I love my daily smoothie, milk, beer, redbull, juice, and ice tea too much.
 
sodas so gross. I drink it occasionally, like with pizza or something but other then that makes me feel disgusting
 
yea man i dont even like soda i loev ice tea tho which sometime i guess can count as soda like brisk but i rarely drink that unless im out but props man respect stay healthy it will affect you good in the long run +++vibes to ur beverage journey
 
yea I only drink soda with mixed drinks now and then. Shits gross. I have no idea how I drank so much when I was little.

personally i hate soda...but for some reason i LOVE birch beer. like its the greatest thing ever. i just hate how i drink coke and it fizzes in my mouth and i cant even swallow any its like wtf is the point?
 
dude thats awesome! one of my friends (this was like 2 years ago so im not sure if its true anymore) was straight addicted to soda, we were on a short vacation over a long weekend and he bet me he could go like a month without a soda....he made it like 2 days or something HAHAHAH
but yeah i just learned about that in this health class im taking (shitty class) that if you cut out JUST soda, you lose mad pounds
 
sorry to steal your thread but Im coming up on one year without any fast food (basically any chain fast food store, harveys, mcd's, burger king).

i rmemeber I had a double cheese burger from macdonalds like a month in and i felt unbelievably sick, lathargic, didnt wanna eat anything, just so shitty. fuck that shit people you dont need it. saved so much money too on late night high snacks and shit its great.
 
So I have been doing this for coming up on a month Now and let me say IT SUCKS i would kill for some red bull or ginger ale right now my cravings have never been worse. tips?
