my sis goes to a swiss international school and im going to "visit" her when shes in Zermatt, its too expensive to bring my skis and i was wondering about ski rentals in Zermatt, I need rent skis and would be supremely pissed off if i arrived and the only skis they have to rent are those brutal beaters we get in tremblant, I've done alot of pow skiing and i need some fatties, anyone know anything about the rental skis in Zermatt?

no idea about rentals in zermatt. but i have rented fat twintips in lenk and in andermant. good luck

Depends on rental place really but you will generally have "beginner" "mediocre" and "expert" level skis. I wouldn't bet on finding any proper powder skies though, but don't expect to only find super GS skis either..
Bigger rental place is prob your best bet.

^ don't listen to the guy above.

Several stores in Zermatt definitely rent out twin tips and powder skis. You can try Slalom Sport (www.slalom-sport.ch‎) or maybe Dorsaz Sport (dorsaz-sport.ch‎). January is low season but you still might want to call/email in advance and reserve a pair of powder skis.

Call up some shops that you will be near to, a lot of people speak english, especially in resort towns. So call the shop and ask what you can rent. Unlike in America a lot of shops rent skis. Even try renting from a shop in a large city. Back in the day I lived in lucerne switzerland and I rented an awesome snowboard for the whole winter from a local shop. Just call around, you will find something that is what you are looking for.
