colorado

I'm soooooo happy........ i might move to CO and ski at actually good mountains instead of here in crappy NY

Joe: 'Red, do something with your life'

Red: 'I do. I smoke weed all the time. And I took a shower earlier. What am I? A fucking superhero? That's plenty.'

yeah, i love colorado, but damn the snowpack has sucked the last 3 years. we usually have 3 dry years and then like 6 or 7 wet year. it better friken snow more next year

Oh, and its amazingly cheap to ski there too. A season pass to 3 resorts+10 days at Vail is only like $275. At my hill it was $325 for shit.

Colorado is good, but don't expect that hard of terrain, if you want to ski 'real' mountains come out to the west coast, and head up to whistler-blackcomb. Hell i skied more vertical at whistler this week then i did in like a season back in colorado.

we have real mountains, like crested butte, berthoud pass, a-basin, aspen highlands, and silverton mountain. they terrain there it just as good as elsewhere, but our snow sucks.

Im fine with that, I dont think Im ready for jackson hole type stuff, crested butte was a challenge (some of that shits steep, especially without pow).

you bunch of pussies...jk

but here in the east it was the worst fuckin winter we got like 100 inches of snow. yeah it really sucked i had a comp and the night before it rained. the mountain was pure ice, no granular at all. i go to steamboat or utah every year steamboat was fuckin ill when i went there in feb.

im sorry its just livin in the east is killin me

Oh fuck me five ways from sunday! are you trying to get these guys to believe that sierra cement and all of the other costal powder is better than cold, dry, champagne powder. nigga, please :-P.

CO represent!!!

I have one thing to say: The whole world is turning lesbian.

we get plenty of cold dry days here in cali, even on may 20 (snowing at 2,500 ft today, skiing about 6,000 ft higher) . . . and I'd gladly take 500 inches of sierra cement over 200 inches or colorado powder, it makes you a stronger skier and it allows us to ski terrain that is never skiable in colorado

Joe: 'Red, do something with your life'

Red: 'I do. I smoke weed all the time. And I took a shower earlier. What am I? A fucking superhero? That's plenty.'

ill take 500 inches of utah sweetness...nana

steamboat baby is where its at they have the fuckin best snow

~Kevin

damn, be happy for your 100 inches, we got less than 20

Colorado's the shit man, you'll love it. Breck is the epicenter (besides Whistler) for newschool.

Big willy its actually like 350....but its cool....u dont end up going to vail that much cause its so far, and if there's no good snow u might as well goto breck...keystone has some really unique rails that most places dont have, but the rest of the mtn sucks...abasin is pretty cool for steep shit...but vail is so tight

newschoolers.tripod.com

the epicenter? haha . . . have you ever heard of a little place called mammoth?? breck has like 3 real pros. Both mammoth and tahoe are quite a bit higher up on the newschool ladder than breck

Joe: 'Red, do something with your life'

Red: 'I do. I smoke weed all the time. And I took a shower earlier. What am I? A fucking superhero? That's plenty.'

but breck better be cool cause we're (myself and a thousand other drunk UC students) going there for a week in december

Joe: 'Red, do something with your life'

Red: 'I do. I smoke weed all the time. And I took a shower earlier. What am I? A fucking superhero? That's plenty.'

absain closed on Sunday. breck has like 15 pros who ski there, including guys who are sometimes there (morrison, schad) and the copper crew who sometimes skis there (G.T., mercon, etc.), as well as the guys that only ski breck.

Yeah, I forgot about Mammoth, it's definitely bigger for ns than breck. But seriously, Breck's pipe is so awesome, when you get big air out of it it's scary as shit, but good for practice.

350 is still sweet. As far as driving I dont really care, the nearest 'good' hill to me is about 2.5hrs, and I made that trip about 20 times this year.

How about my hills 20 inches of natural snow, now that was an awesome year(mmm....no!) Anyway, Utah has the best snow, colorado the biggest lines and Jackson Hole and Whistler the best terrain. I'll take anything over wisconsin though, even if its 40 minutes of lift lines at Vail!

Breck is the shittiest ski area in colorado, next to geekstone. Copper and vail are the places to be. Breck is soo flat it's hilarious, their pipe is ok but it way icy. and there are alot of posers that ski there.

SVHucker has a point, how late does the season last in Colorado? here in california there are spots during average years that'll keep enough snow to build good kickers on until late august. which is what i'll be doing this summer. sure the resorts aren't open until after may usually, but hey, there's a hell of a lot of reward to hiking and building your own kickers. plus there's the whole thing that california chicks are hotter. breck better watch out though december 15-22nd when it gets invaded by busloads of california college students.

we better watch out? Fuck that shit, come get your sunshine state asses kicked by us colorado red necks succa!!! Most people that live in colorado can't stand people from cali. almost sa much as we hate texans.

good for you

Joe: 'Red, do something with your life'

Red: 'I do. I smoke weed all the time. And I took a shower earlier. What am I? A fucking superhero? That's plenty.'

most of us in california don't like colorado snowlerbladers

Joe: 'Red, do something with your life'

Red: 'I do. I smoke weed all the time. And I took a shower earlier. What am I? A fucking superhero? That's plenty.'

yeah. the texans suck, and the californians, for the most part, suck. they are really annoying, and they all move here and ruin places like boulder.

I'd never wanna move to colorado but my friend is schoolin in boulder so you can blame him for that if you want

Joe: 'Red, do something with your life'

Red: 'I do. I smoke weed all the time. And I took a shower earlier. What am I? A fucking superhero? That's plenty.'

and another friend was at UNC in greeley this year but he's so sick of that place he's moving back here next year and going to a JC in san diego (and this guy is a wannabe cowboy from colorado)

Joe: 'Red, do something with your life'

Red: 'I do. I smoke weed all the time. And I took a shower earlier. What am I? A fucking superhero? That's plenty.'

haha they closed way early...abasin usually stays till late june or 4th of july...u can go to st marys glacier and build one if u want...i think brecks park is sweet, its just as good as vails....but vail is a better mtn, its probably the best in CO cause u can do anything there but its so fucking expensive...i dont really like copper

newschoolers.tripod.com

shit, if i hated every skiier i meet that's from other states i'd have to hate just about everyone. let's just all generalize and stereotype skiiers from every state so we can start hating. if someone's a good skiier, no matter where they're from, respect, if they suck, who the hell cares if they're local or not? it's all about style and respect, not locale. localism creates hell for everyone, i know 'cuz i surf santa cruz, sure it's a different sport, but i've seen how localism can ruin the fun. if you wanna complain about anybody coming to your ski resort, then i suggest avoiding hypocrisy and don't ever leave 'your' resort. my work is done here

ive really never been challenged by any trail out west. i think eastern trails are much harder. buti really hate them yes they are really steep but its all ice and shti and that isnt fun. i like being in bowls with waste deep. i donno skiing in the east makes you a good skier i guess. devil's fiddle at killington was the hardest trail ive done. but steamboat, vail, breck have some nasty bowls

~Kevin

UNC?? Ha who cares, theres two halfs to colorado, mountains and plains, greely is like 4 hours or more from any decent skiing. Lol no wonder he left, stink town sucks!!!

greely also smells like cow crap because all the farming around there. when it gets really humid the smell rises from the ground and you can smell it sometimes in boulder.

that's the first time I've heard someone complain about the lack of challenge out west. We have these things called cliffs, and cornices. We have double blacks that actually are double blacks, not borderline black. I will admit ice is no cool and that's why the east produces tons of great skiers. But no one would argue that the terrain in the east is more challenging than the terrain out west.

Joe: 'Red, do something with your life'

Red: 'I do. I smoke weed all the time. And I took a shower earlier. What am I? A fucking superhero? That's plenty.'

i agree with SVHucker for once, terrain out here is insane if you look in the right places, i know of chutes barely off piste that if you stick your hand out while standing straight you touch the snow. then there's things like heart's chute where you jump a 15 foot cliff in and a 25-50 foot cliff out, depending on snow depth. even if we don't have too much ice out here, there is definitely challenging terrain, which is probably why they held one of the world extreme championship competitions here a couple months ago. although i have to say europe has some more insane shit that is in bounds. and unmarked.

Ahhhh, lets quit the fussin' girls. were supposed to a big happy community of jibbers united against gapers and the like. we all have our bad points: west coast has heavy snow, Colorado is inconsistant and has too many tourists, eastcoast doesn't get enough snow and the midwest is just laughable. just drop it for fucks sake.

hell ya, my hill is 300 feet tall, and I liked it better than when I went to colorado this year, no joke, it just was to flat, all groomed, wayy to many tourists, I did like whistler and utah a ton
