im going to colorado around xmas time, but i dont know which mountains to go to or where to stay.. i want to stay within 5 min from the mountain..i was thinking about steamboat, but open to pretty much anywhere maybe keystone/breck but i heard they are kinda flat..want to ski a lot of powder/trees/bowls..which mountain(s) woud u recommend that will have the best snow at this time?

telluride is the shit for what you just mentioned. if your not looking for the greatest park, but pow, steeps, bowls, trees, telluride is sick and they still have a pretty fun park.

If they have enough snow cover by december to open the scarier parts of the mountain, which they should, crested butte is the shit

Steamboat is very sick. it has really good glades and has the best snow around. ive had two amazing pow days there because the snows is rediculously light.

Winter Park is super sick too. it has a great terrain park, good glades, pillows, and cliffs on mary jane, and big open bowls in the cirque

hey man im doing the exact same time as you but after xmas time...i cant really decide at which resort to stay at yet....im torn between breck vail and keystone but they're all within a drive

sweet im going until jan 3 i think then im going again in march..i have no idea where to go though.. so many mountains to choose from

not too far and their both owned by intrawest so you could probably get some type of deal on passes. probably an hour or two, not quite sure the exact time between them

word..i think its between steamboat/winter park or telluride..are there any other mountains near telluride? is there a lot to do there at night? also how close is crested butte from there?

telluride sucks. winter park sucks. in fact they all pretty much do when you have been skiing crested butte your whole life. and snowmass is BORING as all hell.

Stay at brec , the nightlife is good, ski keystone at night, take a trip to vail a few days.

If any of you guys got some floor space or wanna someone to show ya around hit me a pm around then.

i heard breck and keystone are pretty flat compared to other mountains and im spending xmas there..wont vail be ridiculoly crowded?

^i think im going there in march..i found a good deal to fly into telluride and stay at the mountain..i think i might do that or CB if it isnt too expensive

the most legit place for that time of year is wolfcreek. however, you'd prob have ot fly inot santa fe or gunnison cuz its like 6hrs+ from denver. way better than anything mentioned already, except cb. cb however, for that time of year is unreliable. if you are planning on renting a car you could just buy a ticket to denver and then whoever has the most snow/open terrain you could drive to. wolfcreek would be way cheaper too cuz its not a resort.

^im going with my family so they want to stay at a resort..also if you book ahead you get better deals on rooms, lift tickets,etc..

steamboats sick....not many people and lots of snow, shitty park, but its fun to mess around in.. fly into hayden or something.
