Colorado vs Utah

Where do you think it would be better to go to college with an emphasis on skiing as much as possible? I just want to go to an OK school and magor in something general, like business management, and ski all the freaking time. Id prob try and get a job at one of the resorts as ski patrol or something, too.

Salt lake City is awesome since UofU is right in SLC and all the skiing is right there. It looks like Colorado is a bit more spread out between the colleges and the slopes. What do you think?

Utah is competive to get into. And when you are trying to get into the top buisness school and pay mad cash for you need to be prepared to work your ass off.

I think im going to U. Nevada Reno cause tahoes right there and thats where I d rather be than Utah and the school seems to be a lit bit more low key(ie not as hard) that means more skiing. Plus you have all the casinos in reno to work vallet at all night.

how far away is reno from a ski resort? i like how skiing is 30 min away from u utah...

Life sucks, get a fucking helmet

All I gotta say to this (since I've replied to 1000's of identical threads in the past) is Park City, Deer Valley, The Canyons, Alta, Snowbird, Solitude, Brighton. All within 30 minutes of campus. You do the math.

We pay our debt sometimes.

i looked at reno too, but i think ive decided on sierra nevada because its alot closer to tahoe....well, it is in tahoe. there are like 6 mtns around the lake to choose from too.

Give me Keystone or give me death.

I shouldnt have a problem getting in. They say their average ACT score is 24 and I made that in 7th grade. I take all the honors classes in HS and am in AP Chemistry II, Calculus, and Physics as a junior right now, and have decent grades in them. Ok, im done making myself sound like a nerd now LOL, anyways...

Do you really think I'd have to work hard at UofU in schoolwork? Because i really dont want it to be too tense, and I want to be able to have a job at a resort and have a little fun.

I eventually want to be a ski/mountain guide or a heliskiing guide or something of the sort, so its all about the skiing when it comes to picking a college.

Wow, I can't wait to take some classes like that. Can you major in 'mountain activities' or something like that there? lol

Even if I dont plan on using my degree, I think it'd be best to have it just incase I break all my appendages skiing or something. And since Im from the East, I think college would be a good time to transition to the West and get some experience in REAL mountains. My local hill doest expect to be open until Dec 10th...ARRG!

go Denver University or UC boulder and denver is a better college environment than SLC

yes, slc has 'the curch' running the town if you know what i mean. so if your not part of 'the curch' you are looked upon very unfavorabily. they will try to drive you out of town sometimes. i used to live there and i am not part of 'the curch', and it sucked. accept for the skiing, but that didnt make up for it.

LOL, that makes me feel proud. I took it as a part of the Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP) and to qualify for their summer study programs (which i chose not to go to since summer time is not made for learning) you had to score 20 or above in math, 25 or above in reading, so on.

If you really want to you can look at this link and it has all the qualifying scores down at the bottom.

24 isnt that great of a score anyway. Back to the skiing now...
