in february im going up there and im pretty pumped since there is only rain where i live. i can choose 5 places to ski (5 ski days). my uncle gave me an idea where we should go but what do you guys think. vail? copper? breckenridge? beaver creek? i really have no idea. and no i didnt look on the searchbar and i know there are probably alot of threads about what the best ski areas in colorado are.

im going out to vail over feb. vacation. this is my first time there but I have been to breckenridge and the bowls arent that bad but u have to hike to the good ones.

yea this is my first time skiing in colorado (i live in mass), my uncle said breckenridge is the worst place to go, forgot his reasons though haha

park or all mountain???? breck can be windy/cold but mehh only if your a sissy. basically breck/keystones parks are as nice as a giant snuffleufugus (wich is pretty damn good)

pretty much all mountain since my uncle is in his 40s. haha its funny though, he can still do 720s but barely ever tries for obvious reasons. so we will probably go to a park for part of a day. whats keystone like?

So since its getting closer to February vacation i need to decide where im going since its pretty much my choice. I want to go to places that are different and not repetitive so im leaning towards Crested Butte, Copper, A-basin, Vail, and Keystone. crested butte is like 3hours from where im staying but my uncles want to go there. does anyone know what its like?

umm if u want park go to aspen but it will be crazy crowded or try steamboat or winter park theyre nice and less crowded

im not doing much park out there at all since im the only one that is young enough to do park and not worry about throwing out my back or anything. but uhh aspen is to far and isnt it like crazy expensive, im not rich enough.

what would you guys choose if you were going up for a few days, first time ever skiing out west, want to have a crazy good time and be impressed which im sure any ski area will do but still

you should definitely go to abasin or if its snowed recently (good luck) vail, or copper. any of those resorts is a good time, especially if its not the weekend.

WHAT! breck is awesome! sure it's small but it has everything you need.

and you think you have it bad? try living in florida.

i would die living in florida, my uncles hate breck i guess its "not worth it" and there is much better

Yo go to Crested Butte! I'm going there for the first half of feb break and then going to breck. that place is sickkkkk, I go there every year

thanks for the ideas im pretty sure its not possible for me to have a bad time anywhere in colorado the biggest ive skied is killy

not true imperial lifts to the top of peak 8 since last year. most you would ever hike is about 100 ft to the top

I agree with the above post. has the most consistent good snow of any major co resort because it's cold and gets less sunbaked. However the good stuff can be hard to find. At winter park, the best terrain is definately not on the map. And the really steep terrain that is on the map hasn't opened yet and all snow in those places has been bombed away. Steamboat is a great big playground with tons of boulders and aspen groves. It's easy to find the good stuff. There is not much that is truly steep there though.

Vail has the most terrain and great cliff bands in the back bowls. Also incredibly easy to find good cliffs and things to jump off of. The back bowls get a lot of sun, so if you find cliffs with rocks sticking out farther than the snow on the take off, just sac up and jump over the rocks. A lot of fur coats and a lot of goobs hang out there, but it's still the shiz. Copper's got some long fun cruisers and their park is fun, but it's really got nothing on vail. Breck is flat and the good terrain is kind of out of the way due to the great lift system(thumbs down), but for park it's insane. It probably has local stashes too, i don't know. A-basin has some steep terrain and should be visited, but it's small and can get tracked out pretty fast. I've never been to beaver creek, a lot of mixed opinion's on that place. For snow conditions check out www.coloradoskicountryusa.com. Keep in mind that some areas are full of bs though. Winter Park currently has better snow than any other major central colorado area including the aspen areas. Highlands' reported base is total crap by the way. I think you'll have fun anywhere you go, but i'd check out vail first if it's an option.

oh come on man im from the fucking east coast. i have zero experience with altitude. but i wont deny i am a bit out of shape

Aspen isn't any more expensive than Summit and the skiing is way better. You have 4 mountains with basically any kind of terrain or park feature you want, and all on the same ticket and bus system.

Im from mass too and took my first trip to colorado earlier this month. Vail was absolutely ridiculous. The bowls are sick (we had pow days)

so im going in acouple days how are things looking up there? what ski area is getting the most snow?

well wolf creek has the most snow in the state but its far away, just hit up vail breck and skistoned

haha that shits a bitch...first time i went to breck last year i was gettin passed by like old as people..hah

then me my cousin and friend walked another 3hrs to the left i felt like i was gonna die or pass out but it was much worth it...

i would try a-basin, breck, crested butte, copper, keystone but anythign out there is good

If you want to ride the mountain, Definitely go to Vail, for park breck is always sick, but Vail's is dope too. Also, when your at Vail its a short 2 doller bus ride to Beaver Creek which also has a dope park right now.

Either way its all good.
