Colorado= The Worst Drivers in the World?

ok heres the truth...

NH- normal. bad and good drivers but very little idiots (from NH).

MASS- not bad drivers. reckless, but not bad. vermont highway patrol hates them, its hilarious.

UTAH (SLC area)- terrible drivers. if you don't see one accident on the road when it snows or rains, consider it a lucky day. hell even today i was passed by a dude doing 80 on a 60, then cut in front of me to slam on his brakes to get into a gas station. if i didn't slam on my brakes and swerve into another lane- game over. just ask anyone who moved to SLC. blame it on the mexicans or dumb ass business cock-bags, but SLC has def. the worst drivers in inclimate weather, at least. really, ask anyone who has moved here.

MONTREAL TRUCK DRIVERS- assholes. really, they are big, miserable, fuckers who don't care if they run you off the road or not.

that is what they are supposed to do. and what they have to do, if you ride on the side of the road you have the idiot who passes way to close and clips you with his mirror, or worse.

sorry, but my dad rides 6000 miles + a year, and every year he gets run off the road at least once, if not actually hit. i cant stand drivers who have no respect for cyclists.

Yes they are they cant use freeways and they dont understand the concept of two lanes merging. Best drivers however are not from the east coast but from California

i like how this is so Ameri-centric. seriously, American driving is fucking flawless in comparison to other parts of the world.

Singapore is horrible, India shouldnt even be allowed to call their fuckfest a traffic system, and italians are insane.

Some crazy fat colorado bitch tried to run me off the road for cutting her off at a stop light. He car was parked in my bike lane and I just rode between stopped cars to get to the front. Bitch was crazy and fat I let her know that but some how it didnt make the whole thing any better.

No it's not. They are supposed to be on the side to let cars pass. Just because some assholes get close to you doesn't mean you get to impede traffic. Typically when you share the road with vehicles that weigh 20 times your weight, you should yield to them.

I cant stand bikers who have no respect for drivers.

Traffic was stopped and I passed safely and reasonably between cars. Fuck you I cant stand drivers who think that because they have a big car that they can be assholes all over the road. Learn to share the fucking road cock sucker.

my parents are going for their 2nd cross country bike trip this summer and i gotta agree. they should be as far off to the side as possible, but there are still a bunch of fucking asses that don't allow any space for them- at all, for no reason. it goes both ways. i just hope that single-speed bicyclists (know that sounds dumb but its fucking true) will respect motorists, and motorists with respect road bikers... in a perfect world i guess. i just don't want my rents or my homies ending up as some tragic road accident i guess.

you say that but there is a whole rest of a state that isn't the city. And the rest of ny drives pretty legit. the city and jersey is mad sketch though

I wasn't talking to you. And my whole point was about bikers who don't share the road. Don't be so defensive, it makes you look guilty.

HAHA that literally made me laugh. I do agree Colorado drivers suck, I have soo much road rage out here that its scary. I can drive on snow like a mad man though, Im fairly confident my snow drifting skills would scare Ken Block ha. I'll have to get a video of my friends and I tearing shit up in my neighborhood after it dumps. Im talking 7 car drift trains ha

I completely agree my son plays at least 3 football games a week on the interstate, and every year he has trouble with drivers. WTF is wrong with commuters trying to drive where people are recreating?

he pays taxes, he has just as much right to the road as motorists, maybe a-holes in SUVs should show a little respect

Reading this thread reminds me that summer is her for most of us.

All i gotta say... there are bad drivers everywhere. Especially jersey haha.

Are you trying to say playing a football game takes up the same amount of space as a biker?
And to refute your next argument, tax dollars pay for football fields for your son to recreate.
Why shouldn't they be used for better shoulders on roads, etc...
Most importantly, why am I even arguing on the internet about this??? I must really not want to study calculus right now...

I'm saying if you want to play a game or exercise or have fun on public roads why the fuck do commuters have to be such pricks about it, share the road man. That being said, a football player takes up much less room than a cyclist. I offered no qualms as to what tax dollars were spent on, hell add some more bike paths, hawaiian punch water fountains at the dog park, put up some hurdles in the HOV lane.

now you are getting non-sensical... i like it :)
while were at it, throw waterslides into the sewer system and trampolines to get to different levels of buildings! this world sounds awesome!!

Dude its the other way around drivers arent sharing the road. Most of the time we have no lane and all the room I want is enough to ensure that I dont get a door to the face cause as a country we are to lazy and stupid to ever check. Most drivers wont even give me that little room it is so ridiculous. yes cyclists race yellow and red lights yes we will weave through traffic at times but its a bitch and would be a huge waste of time to stop and start as much as cars do. But I watch traffic and I know my abilities pretty well all I need is drivers to not do anything overly illegal and erratic while im in the general area of thier car.

I have driven all around the US and there are bad drivers everywhere, that being said I moved walking distance to work just to avoid having to drive in CO.

CO Drivers are not bad skill wise, infact I would say we have some of the best skilled drivers. When I was 16 I was driving in weather and traffic that most people would never see in their life. That being said I probably take too many risks and drive to fast. CO drivers for the most part are also very mindful of pedestrians. But with our skill comes overconfidence and recklessness. I constatnly get cut off, flipped off, and my all time favorite the "I see your blinker on so I am going to speed up so you can not get infront of me." But at least we are alert.

I think any CO person can back me up on this, but I can pick out an out of state car from a mile away on I-70. FUCK YOU TEXAS GET YOUR ASS IN THE RIGHT LANE. And not just Texas, if I dont see mountains on your licens plate you are seconds away from getting some high beams and then I am going to lay on my horn until you either go 10 over or move into the right lane, thats just how it is.

And Mass, for fucks sake you guys are the biggest ass holes on the planet. You have skill driving in the city but for fucks sake a cab literally hit me when I was trying to merge, we were going less than a mile per hour but what the fuck. Biggest ass holes on the planet. But not the worst drivers.

Worst drivers, in my opinion, goes to the inbred people of Tulsa OK. I lived there for 3 months and these people are boarderline retarded. Everyone drives a POS car, which is good because I literally think they watch the road 10% of the time, all the roads are straight so they all go on auto pilot, changing lanes involves almost coming to a complete stop. People routinly will sit through a whole light cycle unaware it has turned green. Even is the slightest rain there are cars all over the road in in ditches, and I saw daily hit and run accidents. My favorite is some dude looking out the window seeing cars move so he hits the accelerator and slams into the car in front of him, because the cars moving were in the left turn lane.

Spark notes:

Colorado: Good skill, offensive drivers.

Mass: Assholes

OK: Terrible, just terrible.

mass has some pretty terrible drivers. especially boston. however, there are terrible drivers everywhere. it should be near impossible to get a drivers license in my opinion.

guess what. Boulder is infested with Californians and East Coasters. Who you think is doin the driving?
OMFG you've never been to my city. WORST DRIVERS EVER. uhhhhh once i saw a guy who didn't yield!

screw what state has the worst drivers...

San Francisco is the worst place to drive on the planet. I honest to god fear for the sake of my insurance (and life in some cases) and REFUSE to go there on anything other than the bart subway unless absolutely necessary.

First of all the place is a fucking maze. GPS wont help you in that town, because even the GPS voice will end up saying "wait... i meant turn RIGHT in 400 feet... DAMNIT.. sorry.."

Second off, it has pretty much the highest concentration of asians there is. Now sure, not all asians are bad... but when you have the most asians? at least 1/3rd of them are going to be bad... and san francisco's? OH... theyre bad...

third off, Sf is the 2nd densest city there is in the country behind only Manhattan, and is the MOST dense city in america if you count NYC as a whole entity. lots of people. small space = mucho accidents.

SF may not have the 'worst drivers' in a literal sense... but due to its very nature, you become an awful driver by association...

Now do you guys know why we want to legalize weed so bad? Because it calms our fucking nerves when we have to drive in rush-hour(which lasts 4 hours...)

haha you damn iowa drivers love the left hand lane. at least you (iowa drivers) love the left lane on i74 through the QCA. i'm forever stuck behind some fuck tard driving 53 mph in the left lane. and 98% of the time he is right next to some schleprock driving 54 mph in the right hand lane. GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY WAY!!!! if you couldn't tell, i have a severe case of road rage. lolz
I've actually never encountered any shitty drivers in CO, so I'm somewhat perplexed by the vast amount of hate geared towards them.
in reality though, all states have shitty fucking drivers. people are too gad damned busy talking on their cell phone, eating, doing their makeup, talking to their passenger, screaming at their kids, etc. if people would actually focus on driving instead of everything else that they think they can do while they drive, the roads would be much safer.
/road rage rant

Vermonters do not know how to drive at all. And every Mass driver that says people from Mass are the best drivers, you're not. Sure you drive good, but you are the most reckless dumbfucks in the world. Now CT drivers, there is a place where you will have no issues. Drive like Mass people, but without the assholeness and without crashing into everything. My room mate is from Boston and I swear to god I thought I was going to die so many times.

But the rotary in Williston is the worst thing VT could have done. The dam Vermonters stop going into it and stop to let people in. I mean, sure I was a little confused the first time I went through it, but its not fucking hard. End rant/

it's a tele-poll of 5,500 people from the 50 states. 5,500 people that may or may not be capable of answering questions on a tele-quiz is by no means an accurate representation of each state's driving competence, or lack thereof.
now if it had been a list compiled from accident & moving violation statistics adjusted for population density, then it might have some credibility. but it's not. so it's kind of hard to throw scientific rigor out the window when it wasn't really there in the first place.

no, people can ride their fucking bikes on the side of the road, then atleast people can pass with enough room when the opposite lane is clear.

if a cars going like 30 under on a one lane road, im going to honk the shit out of them, just like anyone else should do, its not safe, its stupid, creates traffic, and pisses everyone off. so if bikers want the same "rights" as a car, im going to treat them like a car, and let them know when they are completely fucking up.

now if you can ride your bike 40 mph, then im fine with you being in the middle of the road.

i live in a town where everyone rides a bike, alot of people are nice and polite about it, but there are wayyyy to many douche bags with their spandex outfits and 5000 dollar road bikes who think they own the road cause they look like lance armstrong. that and that whole trendy fixie crowd, who think they are being so original and awesome and "green" and try to look poor even though they just spent 2000 dollars on a bike you cant even stop pedaling with. these type of people think they own the road, flip off cars that dont give them enough space, and just try to be ass holes.

riding your bike is fine, i ride my bike probably 5 days a week, but i give cars room, let them pass, i can realize that me and my 30 lb bike that can barely go 20 doesnt own the road, and there are 4000 lb hunks of metal going 3 times as fast as me that need to get by.

yeah the worst is when its barely sprinkling snow, and theres people going up i-70 either in the left lane or using up both lanes going 30mph, thinking the small bit of moisture on the ground justifies them driving like a dumbfuck. people need to realize that using up the most road possible and going way slower than everyone else, is not safe like they think, its the opposite. its especially bad when its some hippy in a subaru.

If by tele-quiz you mean the written portion of standardized state driving aptitude tests, then yes. Which is, in fact, one half the means by which states judge the competence of drivers.

Also

a statistically significant sample of 200,000,000 drivers to have a 95% confidence level and 1.5 confidence interval is under 5,000 individuals

Meaning that short of the example you provided (which was what I initially looked for and could not find) I provided the next best option.

lolol during one snow storm here there were something like 500 reported accidents. couple that with our god awful highway system (that im pretty sure a mentally incompetent person could improve) this state sucks for drivers.
people FREEZE up when it snows. they either drive retarded slow, or retarded fast and cause accidents.

by tele-quiz i mean that they took 20 questions from the written driving tests - not the entire thing and not actual test results. i'm assuming that they called people up (as this is how a lot of polls are performed these days) and asked them questions off of the written test. who knows what other kind of distractions people may have had that could have impacted their performance.
also, we all know that just because someone can answer a few questions correctly does not mean that they actually apply that knowledge in practice. hence why you have to actually get behind the wheel of a car and prove that you can actually perform in an acceptable manner & why doctors have to do X amount of years in residency before they are able to practice medicine on their own. etc. etc. etc. so aside from actual driving statistics, there really isn't a way to accurately gauge each state's performance on the road.
at any rate, i was just bustin' your balls. all states have terrible drivers, but i have to deal with iowa drivers more often than most of the others, so they will always be #1 on my list. sometimes i wish i drove a monster truck so i could just run them over.

Dude i couldnt agree more, im from Philadelphia and im going to school in Colorado and driving on the highways here pisses me off so bad haha.

philly and the philly metro area has THE worst roads. they are in the worst shape it's like driving over babies every five seconds. my mom is from philly too.
