na its a mediocre school for most stuff (including business). same as almost any state 4 year university. its not that hard to get into.

Yeah, I was about to mention that they're the only vet school in the state. CSU is better than CU for sure though, CU sucks.

CSU has mor of a relaxed feel... at least to me...and people are more down to earth.

Yeah i will be a junior in HS this year. now i haev to start looking at colleges. i would really love to go to a college in the mountians but i am affraid it will cost to much for out of state (me living in wisconsin) does anyone have some info for me or anything on the subject?

yea csu is sooo chill. i would def. recommend it to anyone. its not too far from ft. collins to summit county...about 2 hours max. i ski at copper and breck mostly.

Why do you guys think CSU is so much better than CU. From a skiing standpoint Boulder is a lot closer to Summit County than Fort Collins. Eldora is only 30 minutes away. Its not the best mountain but the have a good superpipe and they are working on getting better rails and tables. You can get a season pass for 99 dollars. Its cool because you can go ski for a couple hours and still make it to a 10:00 class. Boulder has great ski scene. A lot of good riders come to CU. Jeremy Weir, Derek Finn, Paul Cotter, Max Mancini to name a few. CU is a good school. The city is compact so its easy to get around. The hill is crazy at night. It is basically whole neighborhood filled with bars and people between the ages of 18 and 23. There is plenty to do around boulder. It rests at the base of the flatirons( cliff jumping 30 minutes away). Anyways I think boulder and the University of Colorado are great. I am not saying Fort Collins is bad. I go there every once and I while and I think it is cool. I just don’t see how you guys can say that CSU is so much better than CU.

 
true boulder is closer to skiing.....and if it ever only took me two hours to get from summit to my house it would be a miracle.....you have to time it just right in order to miss ski traffic AND denver rush hour unless you leave at like 1:30. I've been in my car by 1:45 from Copper and not got back to fort collins until almost 6

well i was def. not attacking CU. and i meant 2 hours to get there, you are right...it can take a long time to get home. but once you hit I-25 its cake.

from a skiing stand point CU is for fucking faggots. I've said it before and I'll say it again, you are not hardcore just because you live in Boulder. If you are going to choose between CU and CSU go to CSU if you want to go to school in Colorado and ski come to Western.

I didn't say I was hardcore because I live in boulder. I just said it is easier to ski living in boulder than it is living in Fort Collins. Why do you hate boulder so much Phrosty

 
I've been looking at both schools. I'll be a senior in HS this year and live in Oregon. I want to go out of state just to gain a little bit more self reliance/independence but I also want to ski. I've been looking more towards CU just because it seems to have much higher credentials and it's a bit harder to get into. I dunno, if I don't get in then CSU will definitely be my second choice...or Colorado Mountain College...in Breck...LATE

no, ive explained this before: Phrosty detests CU because when he applied there, he was so pathetic that instead of sending him a form rejection letter, the dean of admissions thought it was necessary to write a personalized letter telling him how much of a dumbfuck he was and he was therefore forced to go to Wasted State, where you aren't anymore hardcore than those who go to CU.

whatever dude, I got accepted to CU, DU, and Mines. I choose Wasted State based on it's ungayness.

i would not say that CU is a better school than CSU. they are both ranked in the same tier nationally and are fairly similar. they each have thier advantages and disadvantages. but i would not go to CU just because you think it is better cause it costs more or whatever.

Unless you are the richest motherfucker on the planet, you can't go to CU from out of state. CSU is pretty expensive too, but much more reasonable.

My friends sister went to CU (transfered to UWM only because her rents wanted her to be closer to home) but she loved it. we saw some pictures from CU and there was a field full of houndred or so kids all toking.

Oh, and I'm not choosing to go to CU because it's more expensive. I'm choosing to go there because of what it is and the programs it offers. I like the location as well. I feel like that's where I want to be.

And I could give a shit if CMC is a two year school. If it means I can live in Breck and ski every fucking day...then I'm pleased. My parents? I doubt it.

^chill out dude....out of state tuition at CU is a lot of money for some people.....my parents could barely afford two years of in-state at CSU before they told me i was on my own. i'm all for you representing CMC though

ahahah wow this is awesome. i just read this whole thread and laughed. yelling silently at each other sure is changing my opinion. first of all, no one can flat out generalize that one school is better than another school. sure one school may be better for ONE specific person than another school, but don't generalize. i did also consider csu, mines, california schools, and oregon but i chose cu because it fit me school-wise and socially. sure the social scene plays a big part in deciding where to go. but when chosing a school you really need to ask yourself what's right for you and not other people. other opinions are good but don't take them too seriously. what do you want to do with your life after school? career-wise? after all, the real reason people go to college and pay a shit load of money is to get an education. if all you want to do is have a good time and party lots, you can do it without giving a school thousands a year.
