Colorado state university

sup ns, so im probably going to be a sophomore transfer student at CSU next fall. anybody on here go to CSU? was wondering what the closest resorts are/ what ski clubs they have there?

I have a lot of friends that go there and they seem to like it quite a bit. Not any skiing super close but the summit resorts aren't too bad of a drive.

I'm a soph at CSU right meow and it's pretty cool. I've gotten the Rocky Mountain Superpass the past 2 years so I've been skiing copper, WP, Eldora, and got down to CB a few times. The drive to I-70 on weekend mornings is pretty annoying, so I recommend either leaving real early or a little late. Usually takes me about 2-2.5 hours to get to Copper. Finding a friend who has a place to stay at in Summit on a Friday night makes a huuuge difference. If you're into touring there's a lot of good stuff in Rocky Mountain National Park (1.5 hours) and Cameron Pass (2 ish hours). Fort Collins is a little out there, but you can definitely ski a lot. I've been out pretty much every weekend this semester, and if you get a good schedule weekdays are a lot better.

This thread confirms I will not be ever going to that school, driving over 30minutes to a resort unless its not your home mtn is ridiculous to me. Idk maybe I am just caught in the ski bum life too hard

My closest mtn is 2h haha.

Great school, shitty drive for skiing. Every year it gets worse. You really just have to pick your battles though(Don't go skiing during Christmas weekend).Like someone already said, find a friend who lives in summit that you can crash with to maximize skiing days/time.

All that said, Fort Collins is an awesome town, although super expensive. I'm a Junior at CSU and I love it.
