I searched and theres a couple other threads on this but im gona make this one anyway. I am a senior in high school right not and i just got accepted to a few schools in colorado(i live in pa) and right now i am leaning towards CSU. I was just wondering if anyone goes there and could tell me anything about it. I am going to visit it in January but i just wanted to know from some people that go there if its a chill school, hows the parties campus life etc etc and also what would be the closets mountain to it.

Just any info in general on the school would be great.

CSU is the farthest from skiing. I visited there and i honestly thought it was a dump. i wouldnt go there ever.

im thinking about going here to but its 2 hours away from good skiing, ive never been to Fort Collins though

fort collins is a cool town for a college but way to far from the resorts. The closet resort is like winterpark and thats 2 hours. Your looking at like 2-1/2 hours if you want keystone or breck.

Yeah ive heard some good things about the town. But that really sucks...2 hrs to get to skiing :(

I'm a sophomore at CSU right now, and its a lot of fun. Fort Collins is a sweet town and the drive to get to the mountains really isn't that bad and you get used to it fairly quickly. It'll take a while from anywhere once you get on I-70 anyways because of ski traffic. Do you have any ideas about what you want to major in?

what you need to do is talk to people who have been living in Colorado so you can understand the real college scene. Most people at CU-boulder will tell you they applied to Colorado state also but once they checked it out they realized it was not real great and went to boulder. Check out the major you're interested in and some newsweek reports about how CU-boulder or CSU is ranked. do legit research, after all this will determine the rest of your life to an extent. I go to CU-boulder and if you're just concerned with skiing it's about an 1 hour 15 min. for breck and keystone. much better than CSU and in terms of college towns...boulder blows fort collins out of the water. let's be honest here.

If you are interested in majoring in skiing and minoring in college you should check Western State College in Gunnison, Co. They also have a top notch search and rescue team if you are interested in learning about mountaineering/backcountry which you will need if you plan on skiing any deep pow in Co.

I went to CSU my freshman year and now go to CU. CSU is in the lamest city in Colorado. Western State is 30 minutes from Crested Butte (my personal favorite) and CU is an hour from Winterpark, Breckenridge, Copper, Keystone...

Don't go to CSU. That'd be a bad idea.
