Colorado Snow Storm

Anybody seen the news. The national weather service has forecasted a winter weather advisory for a system that is supposed to drop between 9-15in of snow over CO next week. I always like watching the snow accumulations during the early season so peeps in Colorado keep us updated!

So hyped for the cooler days here in slc this week. Im curious if anyone in boulder whips out the rock skis hahah

If only that happened out East! We’d be on it for sure.

Was supposed to go backpacking Thursday to Wednesday in Colorado but got cancelled a month ago due to extenuating circumstances. Oh I woulda paid to see some of these people in our group camp in a snowstorm lmao. They couldn't even handle heavy rain. Also they didn't believe me when I said we might need to bring winter clothing lol. Damn. Can't wait for winter.

it was 100 degrees for 75% of August im so fucking stoked to wake up and walk around in the 36 degree grey precipitating skies, makes me think of a late fall day where it's freezing raining here but shitting snow up in the mountains. Also good for the wild fires. So fired up I just bought some skis i've had my eye on for 2 months, just took 1 cold day to get me there

Got lucky that me and my buddy just got back last night. Had a few gorgeous days in the san juans. Probably would be cold af in a tent tonight anywhere at elevation. It's def cold in summit right now.

Actually leaving in an hour for anither trip but heading to the desert utah with another buddy. Hopefully warner there.

id count it - when i lived there the house for the 2nd half of my college career had a bigass backyard that sloped gently downhill in the back and with the wooden stairs to pack snow on, some tubes from local construction sites, and the first 2 inches of snow of the year, the boys always found a way to make due with what they got to ride the stoke

Hope you like wind and getting sand blasted down there. This cut off low is tracking for 4 corners region. Good amount of wind and energy with it. Desert won’t be to fun.

Im in Colorado Springs and its literally snowing outside my window right now. Probably wont stick but pretty crazy to see.

Snowing out my window in Littleton. Obviously not sticking anywhere and super wet and it was in the 90s yesterday.

flurries quickly picking up in CB, and surprisingly dry. Temps dropped way faster than predicted.

*Edit 1:30 pm: now basically a full whiteout. Can't see more than a hundred feet or so. Fuck yeah

Is what it is. I'm only in the area a bit longer and haven't camped with my friend in years.

Also were almost to junction and it's still puking snow.

Not gusting quite as much as earlier, but here's the current view. Only about 3-4" showing on the ground, but we've gotten about 5-6" so far at just over 9K', based on what's stacked on the handrails.

I mean its just gonna go back up to 90 by Friday and we won't see more snow until late October.

Sorry for vibe kill.

Stoked on a good first snow and firing up the wood stove again.

It’s good that it will warm up significantly so we can shed this early season snow on the north faces. If it sticks around, it will be the basis of our persistent slab avalanche problem all season. It’s likely going to happen with October snows though; always does.

Lol my Wife is from Colorado and she always jokes that the kids here have to trick or treat in the snow every year.

I have about 2'' of snow on my deck here in the Springs. Thats sick Monarch got dumped on.

was able to get out and skin this morning. Obviously not great, but definitely the most fresh snow I've ever skied this early in the year.
