Colorado Freeride in Breck

does anyone know whats up with this shop? i left some poc impact shorts with them that ripped and ive tried calling them since and no one every answers. anyone know whats up with this place?

theyre just super into bikes in the summer. not sure of the schedule (weekends only maybe?), i never go to breck in the summer. what do you mean by you dropped off shorts?

Why not drive over? That way you will have your shorts ready to ski this week, apparently time is critical.

was in breck a couple days ago and wanted to check out colorado freeride.
only to see a notice on the door saying that CF owed their landlord $11,000+ goddamn

Ya I wanted to go check out some boots there and saw the same notice on the door. I don't think that bodes well for getting your shorts back but good luck

Colorado Freeride was cool, however, if you need a new "cool" shop, check out Avalanche Sports in breck- they are fuckin awesome and Rich can fix anything.

You should check out my new shop. Its called the Fridge. We sell only newschool shit, we got couches, and free coffee, and tvs with extreme shit on all the time. Its a rad place for kids looking for a little rad in a consumer landscape filled with traditional shops that sell gaper shit, and 1000 dollar racing skis.

CO Freeride is gone. They delcared bankruptcy a few months back and took off with everyones money and gear. They are auctioning off of their inventory and haven't paid for most of it I believe. A very similar move to Josh Bryant at Jibij......unethical bastards!

What people are paying what/who off? Just so you have all the Jibij facts correct from a real source (someone who actually did get burned by him), he didn't file bankruptcy or anything - and if he did we were not informed by his lawyer, he didn't even tell most vendors he was shutting down, he literally made a post on NS, gave up his domain for website and email, and disconnected his phone line. When vendors heard the news and tried to contact him to see if they could recoup any of their inventory or $, he was no where to be found. I even tried messaging him repeatedly on NS and Facebook but he didn't respond. His friends even covered his ass and started stories about where he was hiding/living and that he was working lots of different jobs in remote locations because he wanted to make money to pay everyone back. That was a while ago and I haven't heard any updates on his location. My guess is he's still hiding. If you know Josh, could you please tell him we would like our money? Hell I would be happy to recoup 50% of it!
Not trying to start a NS posting war with you, but you obviously don't have your facts right.

He doesn't want people bugging him about it. He's trying to pay it off as fast as he can. That's all I'm saying because I don't want people gettin' on my shit about it.

It's hard to have a shop that has it all. Little high schoolers with their moms are the only ones that came in to spend money. People like me (the majority of college students and resort employees) can't afford to walk into a shop and drop it on gear. I tried to, but it's hard.

glad they went out of business, the fucked up my pow sticks when i brought them in for a mount in january, and didnt center them on the ski.

it has also been confirmed that colorado freeride mounted a ski binding WITH the plastic display insert directly on a ski. It was a marker jester or griffin I believe. Yes, thats correct- the plastic display that is attached to the binding was mounted to a pair of skis.

they didnt align my toe n heel pieces correctly then said that i must have messed with them after i noticed it. they couple younger guys were legit that cashed people out/ sold shit. the manager and techs were morons

This is messed up. If you owe people money you don't just go into hiding while "working to pay them off". You contact everyone and set up payment plans to let them know what is going on. You pay a little to everyone until you get it all paid off. Ridiculous.

Yep, I'm glad you see who is in the wrong here...not sure how anyone could think that hiding is the ethical solution or at all correct. It really sucks that the majority of sales in the ski industry have payment terms that don't pay for quite sometime (net 30, net 60). If everything was cash on delivery or payment in advance this wouldn't happen, but small businesses don't have the capital on hand to purchase all of their inventory in advance, so they end up paying their big accounts first and smaller vendors last...or in some cases not at all.

He didn't order shitty poles from you to sell. He let you sell them in his store. He gave you space to sell them. Everyone knew Jibij was closing down, you could have gone to the shop and got them.

You guys never actually loved Josh in return, which is why he left the ski industry. He was tired of the bullshit. Park skiing is a fad. It goes in and out of fashion like jeweled military jackets do.

^ or maybe b/c everyone buys twins online these days and the market for freeride skis is terrible when you have a physical ski shop that only sell that type of stuff. Asked any normal ski shop that actually makes it year after year and they will tell you that its hard to move twins/freeride specific skis. Colorado Freeride is a perfect example.

Exactly, but he had an online shop as well. He also had AIM and EVERYONE chatted him up. He helped everyone.

People who ski want all this new shit, but they never spend.

Ok considering I even think I have met you aspendukes i know you are a nice person. But now you are ripping on SickStickz who makes fucking quality poles just because he keeps throwing facts at you about what happened with Jibij. The fact is Bryant FUCKED a lot of people over, I don't care if its only teenagers coming in to buy gear that causes him to have to close his shop because thats is not the companies' problem. His job was to run a business, when he needed product to put in his store and manufacturers gave it to him he should have treated it like a gift and realized that he and the various companies were business partners and you should never screw your business partners over. Josh Bryant pulled a bonehead move and until he contacts the people he fucked over such as SickStickz I have zero respect for him

I think the important thing to remember is that if you don't personally want to be involved in a mess like this than don't involve yourself. Obviously vendors don't have a choice in the matter (it isn't just SickStickz that is in this predicament), but if you aren't legally or financially involved at this point why put yourself in that position.
In addition, even if people think SickStickz or any other small vendors in this situation are making a big stink about this type of situation, just think about it from their prospective. A thousand dollars isn't a lot to a company like K2 but it is a hell of a lot of money to small vendors like SickStickz.
Oh, and by the way, good luck with your shorts kid!

The fact that he is bringing this into a public forum is fucked up. If he really wanted to find his poles he could probably get a hold of him easily. Josh didn't buy poles from the company. He just gave them space to sell. Like I said before, he had plenty of time to get his poles back before the shop closed.

Could you even spell retard right, retard?

Seriously, I'm sticking up for a friend. If you have a bone to pick with him then go find him. Don't fucking bitch on NS about it.

Fair enough. ritard, is from the movie "The Hangover". I realize you are sticking up for your friend and I respect that. I will find him.

Its not fucked up when its relevant. And he really cant get a hold of him easily because he has tried but Bryant literally fell off the face of the Earth and SickStickz didnt know that he was closing up shop until they went to try to get money.

Yes, but people were told ahead of time that it was closing. If this guy really cared maybe he would send me a PM, and not argue on a public forum... don't you think?

For sure, now that you have suggested that im sure he will. I didnt think of that and neither did SickStickz probably. Can we call this another NS problem at least halfway worked to a solution? (Cue happy song and end credits)
