im starting to look at schools, i wana head out west so i can get some good skiing in. can anyone give me some names of some decent/good schools near mtns?

im in the same boat, im looking at boulder, BYU, UPS, U of Denver. I need to figure out weither i want a big or a small school first though

I go to Boulder.....I am also confident in saying that Boulder has the best mix of skiing, outdoor activities, party atmosphere, and fine girls out of any school I have ever seen. I ski 2-3 times a week at either keyston breck abasin or vail/bc (vail/bc are usually on the weekends).

So many kids have places up in the mtns, and like I said, fine girls baby, fine girls galore.

i live in florida right now and i'm going to a community college to get my AA, it's ALOT cheaper and it's easier to transfer from a cummunity college to a 4-year institution than to actually apply and get accepted to a 4-year as a freshman.

i'm gonna transfer to colorado mountain college to study culinary, they have campuses in leadville, break, vail, steamboat, keystone, aspen and a couple more places i can't remember.

my friend goes to CU in boulder studying engineering and he LOVES it.

pretty much every school on colorado i hear is good, it just depends on what you want to get into.

I go to CU too and it kicks ass, Boulder is an awesome town and definitely close enough to the mountains.

Boulder Sucks, its way to far from any resort. Western State would be the wise choice lots of backcountry only half an hour away

to far? well i was thinking about denver university too, i know denver is pretty close to some good mtns. how far is it from boulder to like keystone or vail or breck?

Answer these: A. Are wearing a brand name polo shirt?

B. If so, is its collar popped?

c. Are you watching inerest accumulating in your trust fund?

If you answered yes to at least 2 of these, you will be a good candidate for CU.

i dont know man, ive heard a ton of trash about utah. im not judging it, i know they have unblievable terrain but some of my friends said it blew

man fuck you.

cu is the shit and i dont own any polo shirts at all. yeah there are some frat assholes, but mostly cu is a real chill scene with plenty of parties, skiing, and fine fine girls.

and that comment to the CMC girl was fucked up.

well if you have the grades and you've recently robbed a bank or two you can go to University of British Columbia. even if you dont have the grades just rob a bank anyways.

haha well i got a private hs and my grades are decent i guess, idk how much colleges weigh that but ive been to BC and its so dope but i dont think i wana go allll the way out there, kinda wana stay in the states

Anybody go to CSU or know anyone that does...Im thinking of going either there or Montana State starting in Jan. Any suggestions?

Colorado College is probably the best school between California and Minnesota, asides from Rice, which is in Texas. It is located in Colorado Springs, 90 miles from Breckenridge.

check it:

I go there, I wouldn' say that's true. There are some good schools in the fly over states, but they are in bumfuck no where. It is like an hour and 45 minutes to Breck. I wouldn't say CC is the shit or anything. If you want a pretty good education and love: drinking, ugly, unbathed girls and a shitty town, CC is then the shit.

haha, i'd avoid UPS, the University of Washington is closer to better resorts, and Western Washington is less than an hour from mt baker. you also might want to check out UBC and Simon Frasier U both around vancouver, aka around 2 hours from whister. (westerns like 3, so it makes weekends there easy too.)

okay well i looked more into u of colorado boulder and i dont think thats happening, my gpa isnt high enough. im looking into regis and u of denver, any info on those?

Well, as someone who goes to UPS I would disagree, but this has to do with the type of skiing you want to do.

If you want to have access to the best terrain and pretty limited crowds, UPS is actually closer to good skiing than UW (Baker is in a league of its own....but if he is looking for a good school than WWU is out). Crystal is 1hr 20 minutes from campus. Compared to Stevens, the terrain is much better and it is much less crowded. Even when it is crowded the lifts/access to BC allow you to avoid crowds much easier. Alpental is about 1hr 20minutes from here as well (while being 40 minutes from UW) but while there terrain there is extremely sick, it is low (heavier snow), much much smaller, and gets extremely crowded.

The only reason not to choose Snoqualmie over Crystal is because of a park, which crystal lacks. If you could care less about park and would rather ski stuff like such.....

than crystal is where to be.

I looked at a lot of schools (CU, UW, UU, UBC....on and on..) and for combinition of academics & small class size + skiing, UPS was my favorate. I was born and raised in Boulder and had been skiing in CO for 15 years.....extremely glad I got out of there. CO skiing (in-bounds) gets old pretty quick. WA is much sicker.

BOULDERRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!! sam go to boulder by far! my sister goes there now and i'm gunna go there, its by far the sickest college

I guess I should also mention, since my comments above seem kind of negative towards CU....

I would have gone there except: 1) My high school is literally 100 yards away from CU and I needed to get out of Boulder after 18 years and 2) I wanted a small class size. My average size here is probably 20. some classes are as small as 10, my biggest around 35.

CU is by far the best combo for college town, parties, outdoor pursuits, hot women, good academics, and skiing. You really can't go wrong there.

haha i would man but im gona have to bust my ass for the next 3 semesters and kill it on my sat's to get in, but im gona try

sick dude! Boulder!!!! lets drive 2 hours to shitty skiing!! Oh and stand in mad lift lines!!!

Now that is a ski college right there!

No, Western State is and so is the U in Utah.

which i do so it is all good, but nobody ever mentions Fort Lewis. I probably is in one of the best areas to ski

man, i can't believe WSC has only come up once in this whole thread....30 miles from CB man. think about it
