BOULDER - They are not the top party schools, but two colleges in Colorado ranked in the top five for widespread use of marijuana on a college campus.

Colorado College in Colorado Springs ranked No. 1 on the Princeton Review's "Reefer Madness" list in its compilation of "The Best 376 Colleges."

The University of Colorado at Boulder ranked as No. 4 on the "Reefer Madness" list.

Colorado College was also ranked No. 5 on the "Birkenstock-Wearing, Tree-Hugging, Clove-Smoking Vegetarians" list and No. 9 on the "Class Discussions Encouraged" list.

CU was also ranked as No. 20 on the "Great College Towns" list (the University of Denver was ranked No. 19) and No. 20 on the "Most Politically Active Students" list.

The Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs ranked No. 1 on the "Don't Inhale" list (the opposite of the "Reefer Madness" list), No 5 on the "Scotch and Soda, Hold the Scotch" list, No. 13 on the "Stone Cold Sober Schools" list (the opposite of the "Party Schools" list) and No. 7 on the "Future Rotarians and Daughters of the American Revolution" list.

As for party schools, Ohio University was named the nation's No. 1 party school this year.

The school in Athens - a town known for rowdy Halloween bashes - pushes the University of Georgia down a slot in the 2011 Princeton Review student survey.

Rounding out the top five are No. 3 University of Mississippi, No. 4 University of Iowa and No. 5 University of California Santa Barbara.

Ohio was No. 2 last year. It has made the list 12 times since 1997, but never before reached the top.

The Princeton Review survey is part of its 2012 edition of "The Best 376 Colleges," which includes rankings in 62 categories. It is not affiliated with Princeton University.

Brigham Young University in Utah is the top stone-cold sober school for the 14th straight year.

Ha OU top party school...of course, what a shitty place.

Surprised MSU (Montana State) isn't on top 5 for bud on campus.

I'm moving to boulder in 2 weeks. I'm ok with this number. I'm not really going to want much to do with the college kids though.

If you're moving to boulder in two weeks you're going to have to deal with large amounts of college students. We move in literally like 2 weeks from now. O and the college kids, they make up 36,000 people of the population of boulder. Maybe you chose the wrong town to move to??

lol it's probably from the number of kids caught with weed. directly contributed to that number...3 times....with 3 different groups of people...whoops

No its not a useless post because you are incorrect. If you listened to the most recent Ski Show, you will hear Tanner say that in his interview. YOU'RE WRONG, ACCEPT IT!

Who gives a fuck? They probably surveyed 100 kids from each school, they could never determine a real number for a study like that, take a fucking stats class.

I just did the college tour of boulder and CSU last friday. My tour guide at CSU was going back for his 6th year. He said "I took a few victory laps". CSU earned 1st place

just backs up the fact that boulder sucks, ive only been to CC a couple times, but each time its exactly like described, just a bunch of dirty hippies... that shower every day, then spend an hour each morning getting the dirty look just right, then drive to school in their audis and range rovers. each time i visited i would see groups of girls in 60's dresses with flowers and shit in their hair all dressed up like the pics they saw of their parents in the 60's/70's.

boulders pretty much the same but much more snobby, the whole boulder crowd is a giant act. i feel like i cant talk to a single normal person, everyone tries so hard to put off this chill doesnt care image. but if you dont play along with the whole act they get all pissed and snobby and let their inner rich kid come out.

Ugh...Born and raised in Boulder. It is an amazing place to grow up/live and I love it there..

BUT this is why I had to leave after high school. So so so many douchebags move there from whothefuckcaresbutpleasestaythefuckthereyoudouchebags and dick it up. Sometimes so frustrating to go home.

Boulder is still a fucking awesome place, but it would be way better if all the douchebags would stay the fuck away.

Ain't no party like a Colorado Springs party!

Not! but seriously. This is surprising. I grew up in the Springs, they aren't to stoner friendly down that way.
