Color correction

Ive started to edit my season edit lately, and I noticed that when it comes to color correction there are huge differences. I compared the movies Pretty good and aestivation, an european production. Both use exactly the same shots in some scenes, but Rage films´ looks so much better. So I was wondering what the difference is and how I could copy that.I´m familiar with after effects, premiere pro, final cut and motion, so that shouldnt be the problem if I get a proper tutorial.any help?

It's pretty basic if all you want is an informal correction (no scopes). I found it helpful to study impressionist painting (ie shadows are complimentary to highlights). Color theory is always good too.

If you're comfortable with AE, I suggest you edit the video in FCP, export, then do all your grading in AE. I suggest doing this in AE because you can grade using curves and mattes, which is much more effective than the 3-way CC in FCP.
