Colleges?

masters of architecture with an art minor in 5 years at norwich...

and its cheaper than uvm and probably unh

... just saying

ill be honest though. there isnt much to do here other than classes, drinking on the weekends, and skiing is about a half hour away

Plymouth State University. 20 min from Loon and Waterville. And as an added bonus, just got rated #9 on Playboys top 10 party schools in the NATION.

Yeah deff check out Plymouth State! I clocked over 55 days on the slopes this year and I'm still counting even with the shitty winter the north east had. Loon and Waterville are super close and on weekdays every chair up you seem to meet someone from school.

And as stated above were a pretty legit party school, happen to be #9 in the country.

Yeah its def like that at loon. I ride WV and Whaleback and go to PSU. Also it was ranked top ski/snowboard school in the East, tied with UVM. Also id have to say the loon park is epic, and except Jay, nothing on the east is better than cannon on a pow day.

what are you looking for in a school?

i go to umass amherst and its only an hour from mt snow, and depending on what your looking for its a completely different choice than most of the schools mentioned in this thread. its a lot bigger and has a real legit party scene while still being a great academic school. the scene here is essentially non-existent but if you dont care as much about that its a great place to be.

either majoring in health/nutrition sciences..or journalism/writing.

looking at amherst too..they just have a really high gpa reqirement that i probably won't meet but whatever

i am going to Keene state now. i like it. city of Keene is like a lil mini Burlington in NH. haha. some cool teachers, a lot of frat d-bags but also a big party seen. you should check out Champlain in burlington also, sweet school. pm me if you got any questions

i so would. id love it..but i dont think ill get in.

solid B average probably isnt good enough but maybe

probably not, im a guy

as for the uvm debate, i got waitlisted 2 years ago with a 3.3 gpa and an 1800 on my SATs. looking at the schools she listed i would count UVM out, especially if its iffy about getting into umass in state.

keene is dope in my opinion, great place to be if your looking to ride a lot

EC colleges! been there, done that.
check out St. Michaels in Winooski VT. My grades are in the shitter and i got a 1700 on my SATS and they still gave me money (its a really expensive school, so it was probably just encouragement to go)
UNH was pretty cool, nice campus at least.
UVM screwed me over a little bit. I loved the campus, the vibe and all of burlington though. my numbers weren't good enough for them anyway.
Champlain seemed really chill, had nice buildings and was in a really nice location, but a bit strange. Very artsy.
Keene State wasn't bad either. The facilities were wicked nice, and they offer the mount snow (and some other hills) college pass which is pretty sweet. my opinion on that place is jaded considering i was lead around in the rain by two dopy girls.
Umaine isnt bad either. about the size of UVM, near the water and the mountains.
and crapshot, but Colby Sawyer college. Very small but, cute new england school, with a lot of options for a school that small.
i really thought i would end up in new england but im going to colorado state, go figure.

thank you, that's really helpful

i've looked into basically all of them, i just have to decide which ones to go see for tours and all that

ya dog unh is ill. only about an hour and a half from loon and it's not too far from sunapee, sunday river all of which are on passes that have college deals

LSC, Champlain, UMF are probably best. LSC is closest to any mountain as far as ik, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm fucked as far as skiing goes when its time for college, wont be near it.

nah i decided not to for the following reasons:

UVM:

-Out of state...more expensive than Champlain

-Got max scholarship money there which is 6k/yr. They can't give more because they are public.

-Didn't really get any financial aid.

-The nice dorms are a longish walk away.

-I'd skip way too many classes.

Champlain:

-Smaller AKA more attention/internship opportunities/job oppotunities

-Has a lot of dough to give

-Really nice buildings

-Dorms are unique/ballin

-Just as close to UVM as some of UVM's dorms AKA UVM parties if Champlain's arent cutting it.

:)

haha that's funny (: hi

and i want to go there wicked bad for writing. i'm going to vermont soon to take a tour there it's my number 1 school of all of them

So my group that I work with for my Principals of marketing class at PSU had to make a commercial. I need help to get all the views up.
thanks

if you're looking into journalism I'm gonna suggest SMC. I'm a junior there now in the JO program and although tough, I'm def. getting my money's worth in my major classes. PM me if you have any questions, but know that pretty much you're gonna get mad hookups, if not a job, when you graduate SMC JO.
