Colleges

on top of those i applied to middlebury, colgate, hamilton, colby, tufts, amherst, colorado college, U of BC, Colorado College and University of Virginia.

a lot... i know haha. i really just dont know where i want to go. i do know id rather go to UVM than pitt though, but really only because i already live in pittsburgh.

just believe me, i heard nothing but good things too, i went there on an official visit for baseball, if you wanna go to school in a town where theres nothing to do, the parties suck, and the girls are ugly, thats the place for you.

yea and i coulda gone there but didnt because its a terrible terrible place. it looks fuckin epic on paper, but sucks in real life. please listen to me, im only trying to help you guys out.

Oh yeah...I'd rather go to Pitt as of now but I have never even been to western PA so i dont know?

What is the skiing like there...im sure its not as good as UVM.

im turning in apps tommo wont know till march. prolly gonna take a year off any ways though well have to see though, just dont feel quite motivated or inspired to spend 20k a year. (i get in to all schools i apply to half off through the tuition exchange)

contrary to popular belief, pittsburgh is actually a pretty cool city. im just getting kind of bored of western PA. the weather is pretty shitty. hot and humid in the summer, not that cold in the winter. it doesnt snow much. and 7springs is where you would ski and its nothing great... theyre really working on building up the park though.

i would love to go to pitt if i wasnt already here. like i said great city, nice campus, cool people. and i like the honors college. but its time to change it up a bit i think.

I feel like i am sorta getting screwed by hamilton. Their golf coach wants me to play for them so he had admissions do a pre-read which means they look at my gpa, sats and courses. I have a 96 gpa, 2020 on my sats, and am taking as many ap courses as i can and the pre-read said the only way i would get in is to apply early decision II

they just want to ensure that youll go there if they let you in. so basically you are getting screwed unless you are 100% positive you want to go.

no i wasn't braggin, just looking for some imput. There are people here that are way smarter than me. When i got that call i just felt really confused

gotcha. Hamilton's incredibly hard to get into and I know that it's very competitive, so they are probably just making sure that they are taking the best students, academically, before they think about who will benefit their athletics. Just speculation though.

speaking of hamilton, i was on a tour there in like novemeber i think and i was with a kid in a k2 hoodie. i thought about asking him if he was on ns but then reconsidered and thought that might be weird haha

damn, you applied to a lot of places.

i only applied to 2 last year, 1 of which i didn't want to go to anyways but i applied to make the parents happy. got into my first choice (ubc engineering) fairly easily, but that's not saying much cause high school is pretty easy.

I am praying that this is what it looks like, a typo, but it is a little ironically funny that the kid that just was spouting off that he was third in his class spelled "imput". Just a chuckle.

I've only heard back from Penn State, but I applied to CU and University of Utah about a week and a half ago, so im still waiting on them.

sorry he wants to get a good education, yea he must suck.

I'm a freshman at dartmouth, and if you get in, i highly recommend it. It is a sick school, great parties, great academics, and i've met a ton of sweet people. And, for an ivy league, the girls arent even bad. But, I will say, if you like cities, don't come here, because well, hanover NH is not a city. But I like that, so its pretty sweet.

Don't go to school of mines unless you don't like girls or fun.

And about the GPA for CU, I got in last year with a 2.9 GPA.

yea dude, my sister goes there for her graduate degree, and she says the undergrads work SUPER hard and don't realy party that often. Also, way more guys than girls. But, it is located in golden, really close to keystone/a basin/loveland/etc.

williams is an amazing college in a terrible terrible location, the school itself is obiovusly balla with the #1 liberal arts ranking, in general it looks like the perfect school on paper, but once you get there, worst place ever, here are some reasons:

- social scene is awful, when i visited for baseball on a saturday nite the kids on the team were all studying and just told me to watch football

- williamstown has a downtown thats almost non existent

- theyre the ephs and their color is purple

- the girls are haggard

BOTTOM LINE: dont go to williams.

but anyone on here who gets into tufts, PLEASE GO THERE, there are no skiers and there are balla handrails that need to get slayed.
