Colleges Out West

Was wondering the same thing, im currently a sophmore. I was thinkin utah because my cousin is currently on his residency there. I was wondering more about western washington though.

Regis University in Denver, CO is where it's at. It's five minutes from downtown Denver and all the people are awesome. I don't know what you want to study, but they have really good health related major programs.

not to threadjack, but what about east coast schools? i know uvm is probably the best skiing college in the east, but what are some better schools academically that are still close to good skiing?

So I've gone through my first week at DU and I've got to say that I'm impressed. All the professors and staff I have met have been really committed to the students. It's been a crazy orientation week between all the events, classes, and parties, but it's been a good one.

Im in the same boat as this guy. Ive been impressed for the most part, but definitely unimpressed with the number of rich stuck up douchebags here. Plenty of chill kids too though

Join the Alpine Club. I used to help run it, and they have some amazing trips for super cheap. We did a 2 days and 2 night trip to Jackson Hole for $130 that included everything but food.

Yeah, there are a lot of rich kids. But, I've found that the majority of them are down to earth kids, whether or not they realized that they have oodles of money. I guess we'll find out tomorrow how much I like the classes and professors.

you know what all CU and CSU students have in common? we all got into CSU.

All jokes aside, CU is sick in my opinion. Compared to CSU I think it's a much nicer school, closer to the mountains, boulder>ft collins, better research school (if that's what you wanna do), better party school, the list really goes on. Just make your own opinions on it bc haters gonna hate.

College in California. It's like this. USC costs a lot, but the state schools are reputable and affordable.

Honestly, coming from Ohio, if you want an experience you should definitely check out schools in California. There's tons to choose from and you'll definitely find one you like. For skiing, there are better options, for an experience, California is possibly one of the best states to go to college in. If I wasn't from California I'd be there for school now. Go there and get an experience, meet new people and do some skiing while you're at it.

Regis is sick, but the area around it is so ass. The school kind of seems like a hospital to me too but whatever.

You have no fucking clue what you're talking about. CSU has a 10% lower acceptance rate than CU does. Both are really nice schools, but have different focuses. Boulder is closer to resort skiing. CSU has good backcountry skiing and the Poudre Canyon, which is fucking awesome but fairly burnt right now.
