colleges in the tahoe area..

im looking into colleges in the Lake Tahoe area but im from Maine....what are some of the closest to skiing and best???

 
Lake Tahoe Community College is closest, but UNLV and University of Reno are close too.

sierra nevada college looks pretty sweet, i may go there, it is like right on the lake

Sierra nevada college is in incline village, UN Reno is about a 1/2 and hour away and UC davis is about 2 hours away

Sierra Nevada college is a good choice if you're a rich, preppy punk looking to party and ski all the time and not learn too much... apparently most 6th grade classes are harder than SNC. Which floats the boats for some people... hell, the place even provides everyone a ski locker.

 
yeah if you want to ski 130 days and just want to be able to say you go to college, head to SNC. UNR is a better school, and Davis better yet. I'll get 60 days this year while going to school full time in Davis. UNLV isn't remotely close to tahoe.

the best that is the closest is probably ucdavis, though i think its somewhat more difficult to get into coming from out of state.

 
SNC way too many dollars. Nice school but not if you looking to find some ladies. I visited and there was a damn macdonalds for 45 mins around

What about Cal state Sacramento? isn't that closer to skiing than Davis is??? Are there a lot of skiiers/snowboarders at Davis?? What's the closest mountain to Davis... i cant remeber which one of you said that you go there..oh and what about Chico???

 
sac state is about 20 minutes closer to tahoe than davis, but it's not a better school than UNR, so you'd be better off there. And there isn't much real skiing in the mountains up by Chico. The donner summit ski areas (sugar bowl, etc) are an easy hour and a half from davis. Oh yeah and sac state's D1 football team has lost to us 9 out of the past 11 years. You don't wanna go there.

there's sierra nevada college, on the lake in incline village, which is a 4 year school. I know there's a JC in truckee, not sure where else
