Colleges around mountains

I'm still in high school but when I graduate I want to go to a college next to a mountain. I know there are a lot out west, but are there nice ones in the northeast? I live in New York so close to there would be helpful

UMF in Maine is an hour away from sunday river, sugarloaf, and saddleback.

Easily forgotten, but its a great school for skiing purposes.
 
Westminster and U of Utah are the best for skiing. theyre close to park city. Boulder is 1.5 hours away from breck on a good day. Westminster gives alot of good scholarships and is fairly inexpensive for a good school
 
Not to be rude, but how smart are you? I looked at a bunch of east coast ski colleges when I was looking into where I wanted to go (3 years ago) so I can definitely help you out. Feel free to PM me.
 
I go to Bates and during the peak of winter you can easily ski 7 days a week. We got lost valley 8 minutes away which all Bates students ski at for FREE since our outing club covers the cost. LV has pretty good parks too. Then with the boyne college pass that is only $350 you can ski at Sunday River an hour away, and then Sugarloaf 1 hr 45 away and then Loon which is 2 something. Its a tough school academically but filled with awesome people and a lot of skiers
 
I go to Michigan Tech, which is in the UP its an engineering school with the 3rd highest average starting salary in the country. It has its own hill which is really nice because its free and the students practically run it so the park is dope. If park isnt your thing then its 45 min away from Mount Bohemia which has some gnarly backcountry skiing that you should checkout. Houghton (MTU) is the 3rd snowiest city in the US. We already have 54 inches on the ground and it hasn't stopped snowing in 5 days. If you aren't into engineering then you should check out Northern Michigan University they have a Ski Area Management program which has great internship opportunities out west. They have a local hill but its not free but its within driving distance with some of the best resorts the midwest has to offer.
 
also cant forget Keene State College. An hour from Okemo, Stratton, Sunapee and Mt Snow and just under 2 hours from Killington
 
I'll edit that to point out it has to be a good day for driving and you have to drive really fucking fast.
 
University of New Mexico is only about 15 minutes away from skiing. Sandia peak is one of the best mountains in the west, it has the steepest terrain and the best snow. Plus there aren't any gapers there.
