im applying to schools right now and i have no idea where i want to go... im planing on going to either Western , Gonzaga or Montana sate... i was wondering if anyone could just tell me what they think of each school and the pros and cons of going to each one of these would be and if any of you have attended one of these schools.... i m not going to make my desiccation based purely on your guy's comments i just wanna here what other people think

Gonzaga is a great school. I really can't vouch for the other two, but if you want a quality, Jesuit school that has a great campus, outstanding staff/faculty, and unmatched community, there's arguably no better place in the Northwest. It's really the community that makes it so special. And it it's also great that there are five great ski areas nearby.

Sorry to sound like an advertisement. GU's just a great school.

thanks for the input... the only mt i ve skied there is Schweitzer and it was pretty sick but can anyone tell me what Mt spokane is like???

I've always thought of it as more of an area that you hit up for night skiing, not during the day. They say it's 1,425 acres and 2,000 vertical feet, but that's probably stretching it a little too much. Because it's only about 30 mins.-45 mins. from Spokane, it's really easy to go up for night skiing (which they have Wednesday through Sunday I believe) and get some runs in. It's just not in the same league as 49, Silver, Schweitzer or even Lookout in my opinion (Lookout gets 400-500"/year). I dunno. It could be because I'm a biased Schweitzer addict.

the whole spokane area has a nice selection of skiing. I was set on GU until I saw OSU was 30,000 less.

mt spokane isnt too bad. I've never seen crowds and have good tree skiing especially on the backside. But they all have nice snow

I think it's interesting that the basketball team is bringing so much attention to the school. The freshman class this year is the largest ever. That's saying something. GU's growing fast--and almost too fast, because it means they'll have to reject some applicants that (before the surge in people) would've gotten in. The growth is largely attributed to the basketball team.

I barely ski park at all, but I can say that Mt. Spokane's park is better than your average local hill, but not as good as Schweitzer's. But I'm biased, so don't take my word for it.

IMO in the Spokane/CDA area, the best/most consistent snow is going to be Lookout Pass. It's also the smallest but in many ways (crowds, snow quality/quantity, variety), it's one of the best. The best overall is going to be Schweitzer. It's also the biggest, but gets consistent snow--it's only about 50 mi. as the crow flies from the wettest place in the Rocky Mountains. Top-notch tree skiing, park and overall terrain, but it comes at a price. I think it's worth it. But that's just me.

MSU is a quality ski college. Bridger in 20 minutes, Hour to Big Sky and Moonlight. Lots of outdoor fun, and a decent school.

Or you can go to PLU like I do, take awesome English classes, enjoy that fact that the school is 65% female, and drive a lot to go skiing.

I know you asked me these things but the other great thing about Gonzaga is if you are into music.almost anyone that is on tour makes some sort of stop in Spokane or very close nearby.

EWU is like 15 minutes on I-90 to the west of Gonzaga and is very inexpensive if price is an issue. It is rather secluded and in a tiny town but it is a nice small campus, everyone is really friendly, and the class sizes are also on the smaller scale too.

It, well, is more prestigious than either of the other two. It is one of the higher up private Jesuit schools in the country. If I am not mistaken it is essentially an Ivy League level school minus the Ivy League east coast accent.

I don't believe in a "Good" or "Bad" school. Every school needs to meet the basic requirements of accreditation.

Now if you are applying for a job and they see you have a 3.5 GPA at GU vs MSU, I'm willing to bet you would have a better chance of being hired. I'm not saying MSU is worse, I'm just saying GU has a better reputation. Plus you can learn about jesus.

You should go to a college fair and talk to some reps for these colleges, get some information and stuff, maybe tour the ones you're interested in, you could always combine it with a ski trip if you have the cash. There are many things you want to take in to account when picking a college and all of the schools being discussed here are very different in many ways.

wwu is for people who couldn't get into the uw and everyone from everett that made it into college (.3%)

Bitch im top of my class, or something like that, e-town reppin. Actually I dont even care... everett kind of sucks... a lot~
