Yeah.... it's that time. I was curious where all of you midwestern kids are going to college at neat year. I'm goin to University of Utah. Anyone else headed there? If not, where are you going?

what kind of grades did you have?

accumulative gpa?

just wondering because ive always thought about going out there. i have a 3.1 average for highschool.

you could mos def get in depending on your ACT/SAT score. The biggest problem is the out of state tuition. Its gonna cost me $38,000 a year for tuition and to live on campus which really blows because I could go to UK or U of L for next to nothing.

just a little heads up there is sumthin called Colorado Mountain college that has a campus on pretty much every mountain out there... vail,steamboat,brek,aspen....ect. and they accepted every person who applied last year so im sure that would be fun... get sick of one mountain and transfer to another.. sounds sick

yeah but colorado mountain college is a community college if i'm not mistaken. those are the places you go if you forgot to graduate highschool. that's a little harsh, but if you want a real education, go to a state or private university.

^ he's right. It might be fun, but once you graduate some people will laugh at your diploma, versus someone who has one from a big university or private school.

what kind of grades did you guys have that are going to u of u

i will be a seinor next year and want to go there for college

what are you goin for to?

im going to schoolcraft commun here in michigan, then transferring to ferris or u of u next year. i got a 30 on the act and my gpa was a 3.2

reason for going to community for a year is its free with a scholarship and im stil gonna need 4 years after that cuz im going into pharmacy tech

Or you could all just go for Ski Area Managment. I job offers at Park City, Keystone, Beavercreek, A-basin, And Vail with out even really trying. it was just that easy witht he education I got.

Think about it

if u do that for like a year just to have fun.. do u think u could transfer out back home to osu or summthin like that?

i am top five in my class. community colleges aren't bad as long as i can ski every day and not have to pay a shit load of money and after 2 yrs i can transfer to a larger U and graduate from there.

i went to CMC in steamboat my freshman year. to be honest it kinda sucks, no girls, and the school is the size of a hot dog stand. do it the right way, go to school back home or somewhere and save the money, switch spring semester with summer and ski at breck every day of the season, CMC was a waste of time and money. Fun skiing dont get me wrong, but not worth the education....

hahaha real education. Im pretty sure when u graduate your diploma says the university your graduate from, not the community college.

For the dude that said somthing about grades and U of U, I got in with a 3.25 Gpa and a 23 on my SAT(I was slackin). If your grades arent that great, but you still want to go there, APPLY EARLY! infact apply the first day you can. it helps so much and will greatly increase your chance of getting in.

wait, are you saying go to a community college around here, then take off the spring semester and live out west for a few months. then come back and make it up over the summer?

ulitmately, you want to be at a good university, taking classes in the summer and fall (semester schedule). take off the spring semester and move somewhere like slc, tahoe, or summit county. get a job so you can afford rent, or live in employee housing. shred every day.

U of U. Real university plus skiings fucking real close. My bro's been at cmc the last two years and he didnt really care for it.

thanx for posting that cuz i was plannin on jus goin there my freshman year and transfering bak here but now that u said that if i CAN then i will jus transfer for a few semesters and come bak after that

go to college board.com and u can compare them all... get all the good stats... i wish i could say that i was going to a mountain college, but i am not... but i smell a transfer somewhere down the line

Just want to say good luck to all of you who are going to college. I am graduating on Saturday from Ferris State University and I'm stoked but sad this wild ride is over. Just remember to do the right things (go party instead of study.. ect) Just ballence it all and you'll do fine. I promise you'll remember the party you went to or the wild times you had instead of that math test you only got a B on because you went out instead of staying in. Ying and the Yang. Good luck all and remember to wrap the willy and drink plenty of water before boozing. Peace
