College RA's suck

Yea so my first night at Montana State....I got written up for drinking...seriously wtf? Why do the RA's fucking care they were freshman once.
 
haha two of my best friends go there. their RA's are real chill they have walked in one them drinking multiple times. once they were drinking beer, another time, it was wine, and then they walked in when one of them was throwing up.
 
3rd night i was here we got written up, before school even started. you just have to know the right things to do and ill share my secrets with you. i guarantee itll work every time. when you hear them knocking, if you arent playing music start some up while you are hiding all the cans and everything. my dorms are connected to another room so if you have that youre in luck, otherwise youre fucked. you have everyone move to the other room with all the alcohol. turn off hte lights and pretend to be asleep in there. then have 1 or 2 people open the door, just deny everything and bullshit your way out of it. if they ask to look in hte other room just say theyre asleep cause they cant go in if they dont have permission. RAs really cant do anything, just keep them in line and youre set.
 
Dont take shit from your RA. Get some dirt on him/her and leverage the shit out of em...their consequences for breaking the rules are alot more serious than yours.
 
Umm, most don't care. Mine don't. Just don't be stupid and really obvious about it, and stay out of the way of the patrolling ones, and there you go. Ours drank with us one time, just as long as he's not on duty it's cool.
 
Some RAs can be real lame. I had a friend who was an RA and we were drinking in my room and some of the other RAs that knew him busted us and proceeded to write us up.
 
my RAs from brooklyn. hes the chillest kid ever. like we go and have drunk fights with him and shit. and just get plastered and run around the hallways and he stands there and laughs at us for being so fucking retarded. its awesome. and like we'll be bringing up 30s in duffel bags and hes like, so...you have some pretty heavy laundry there huh?
 
yea it wasnt my RA that wrote us up it was the patrolling ones. and it only happened because someone opened the door to piss right when they walked by.
 
we have UGAs here, undergraduate advisors. I've drank with mine before a couple of times, and she happnes to be pretty cute. My roomate hooked up with her once. It was so classic. I like my UGA
 
dunno had some chill ra.s. used to smoke pot with them all the time.. just got to have a spoof or do it in the shower
 
RAs are a joke, you just need to figure out why they care...

IE: couple nights ago, were chilling smoking in my room. RA knocks, establishes the fact that it reeks of bud. We know they just care about you smoking in the building, so i say "Oh, i'm sorry, we MIGHT have been smoking outside, and it probably just followed us in." RA says thank you for smoking outside, and leaves.

the key is to be nice. its their job, make it easier for them, and they'll make life easy for you. So if you get busted having a party, get everyone to shut the fuck up, turn down loud music, open the door sooner rather than later, and be apologetic and accommodating.
 
My RA is chill as fuck, its just that there is this one massive bitch of an RA (by massive i mean PORKER) that gets her shits and giggles by roaming around and trying to get people in trouble. honestly last night, everyone on my floor is chilling and meeting the new asian kid james. we have the music on in his room and around 11:15 the porker comes by and proceeds to write the new guy up because its quiet hours after 11 and aparently she could here the music outside, while the rest of us are trying to explain that our entire floor has no fucking problem with the music that definately wasnt that lound. she ignores us and we just stare at her in disbelief.

just another example of why people that want authority should not be in positions of authority.
 
I just got written up last night for writing "Fuck the RA's" on our window. Sort of ironic since we wrote it up there because they write people up for stupid shit.
 
Hendrik knows whats up...and the person who said they get more chill as the year progresses is right too, they just want to establish authority right off. if you're gonna drink in the dorm just be smart about it. dont go falling all over yourself in the hall yelling "oohhhh immmm so druuuunkkk guys!" thats just stupid.
 
My dorms have an "Opaque Cup" and "Open Door" policy. If you're drinking, they want the doors open so that they can be aware if someone has alcohol poisoning or whatever and they can respond more quickly, and they just ask that you have your booze in an opaque cup. It's rather nice.
 
what school do you go to. let me get this right, you can drink but you have to keep the door open and have yur booze in an opaque cup? if so that is badass.
 
Haha sorry to hear that bro. I have smoked with 70% of the RA's at my school. The other 30% are all sad little people who take their anger out on everyone else.

Some of them just take the shit mad serious and those are the ones who end up becoming RD's and working for the school because they realize how sad a life they live and that tormenting students is the only thing they take pleasure out of.
 
You go to Montana? What dorm are you staying in? This is my second semester in the Roskie.

As for the RAs... it's pretty easy to avoid them, you don't have to open the door immediately, so get things so they're not in plain sight, shut off the light, and crack the door... there's not much they can do. I've had four or five incredibly close calls between cops and RAs this past semester, but if you play it smart you can usually get off without a hitch.
 
wow..... where do you guys go where you can't drink in your dorm rooms? we can drink in our dorm rooms, floor lounges, bathrooms, house lounges, and the commons block lounge. the only place we aren't allowed to drink is the hallway. even then, if we're caught with open alcohol in the hallway, usually the RA won't do anything about it, and if they feel like making you get rid of it they give you the option of chugging whatever you have. we drink with our RA, and he challenges us to shotgunning competitions (he always wins though cause he's amazing at shotgunning). also, i've borrowed shot glasses from my RA a couple times, and he's always been chill about it and asked what i'm drinking, and usually he asks if he can have a shot too. i dunno, maybe it's all because i'm in canada, but i'm not legal age and neither is most of my floor.
 
Haha, exactly... you go to school in Canada. RAs are a lot shittier when it's illegal because they kind of have to be.
 
Doesn't really matter, Canada is way more chill about drinking in general... and it's college, even if you are 17, most people will just assume you're 18 if you're a student.
 
Yeah, basically. I mean, parties happen all throughout our dorm buildings all the time...it's not so much an issue of party all you want though. It's more like they accept that it's going to happen, and it's really not a bad thing at all, so may as well make it as safe an environment as possible.

It's a program called the Johnston Center, and it's within the University of Redlands. It's a pretty amazing program in general. You design your own major (I know one guy whose major is snowboarding photography), and the classes offered are pretty incredible as well. The only problem is it's in SoCal, so any accessible skiing isn't too great.
 
freshman year we had a pretty cool ra. She never yelled at us or anything. We got written up by this one RA for watching the rose bowl too loud. My hall this year doesn't have an RA. Our RA lives in a different hall and I've only seen him like 3 times all year.
