College is hard

Anyone else finding college to be really hard like you study a shit load and actually try and you still get c's

No, most of us are out frolicking in the fields. I think you're probably just dumb.

Liar. You just showed up to school 3 hours before your first class and sat in the library taking reading notes.

well theres a shitload of studying but i still do alright, the thing that gets me is all the prep work and research for papers. Its crazy.

yeah but im in university... i thought i nailed every question on my math mid term... so maybe 95% (5% careless mistakes) yeah i got a 72%.... where the hell did that come from?

yeah same shit happens to be on every test i always think i own it and then i always get a C... and i dont know what you mean about university...like graduate school?

Try getting a 95% on the first exam, and a 39% on the second one.. LOL?! I just got it back today and was just like Fuck. Good news is if I get a 88%+ on the rest of the course I can still get a 3.0! Not gonna happen...

God I hate math. And I have 4 more chapters to read for my huge organic chem exam tomorrow. Fuck school.

University and college. like the university of connecticut or the Connecticut State College. Just a quick example

oh well i go to Northeastern university but i dont think you can generalize like that because Amherst College is a lot harder than The Univeristy of Vermont...

In canada they call it university, college is like a trade school. Its not like in the US where a college and university are basically the same thing. I'm not exactly sure on the trade school thing, so any Canadians, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

colleges just don't give as many degrees i think. um, a good example of a trade school would be BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology). generally, universities are harder than colleges and also have bigger classes.

universities aren't always harder, i think they just have a graduate school program while colleges don't. or you can get a masters or something as opposed to a bachelor.

i do work monday tuesday and wednesday, so after my lab at 9 on wednesdays, i've done all my work for the week. thursday classes i just take notes and i've never been to my 9am on friday sober. right now i have all As. but tomorrows test should drop me to an A- in chem. oh well.

in canada you get a degree if you graduate from a university and a diploma if you graduate from a college. Colleges focus more on hands on things such as nursing and the trades whereas universities are much more theoretical such as social sciences, sciences, business and engineering. Although there are some programs offered at both or that involve attending both but they are just taught differently and have a different focus or emphasis on it.

yeah this is nothing like high school. like everyone i guess reads a shit load i should start doing that. but i guess im lucky and i just learn a lot from lectures and retain most of the stuff.

Most of the classes are chill and pretty fun. Sometimes there is a fun workload, but if its in depth, sometimes it really isn't bad at all.

Just watch out for weed out classes. Those things destroy if you're not careful.

do what i did.  drop out of college and ski bum for a couple years, work contstruction in the summer, get sick of working your fucking ass off for low pay, go back to school.  All of a sudden, school seems pretty fuckin easy.

So far it hasn't been too bad for me. You just gotta find the right time to do your hw and just do it.

yeah im not complaining about it being so hard im so lucky to actually be going to college and i try not to take it for granted. Im just saying that it makes me feel like an idiot and maybe i need that but it just seems like even when you feel like you do well you get like 2 grades down from what you thought you would

College is a fucking joke. try doing a hard major like engineering before you bitch about buisness or comm. this is just funny when people bitch about how much work there schoolings are. Figure it out, yeah you might actually have to start studying a few days before a test not right before, fuck it's not that hard. the thread creator is either straight up stupid in which case your fucked period, or he's lazy and doesn't care enough about school and his future to try hard. If you get bad grades try harder, study more if that doesn't work become a mechanic or plumber.

college is defiantly different that high school....but u just got to get use to how things work. i was in the same situation...but now as a senior in pumping out a 3.6 in a math/science based major. u just got to get use to it

i'm at one of the top colleges of optometry in the country, and yeah...it's hard. does anyone else have more than 21 credits of graduate courses this semester???? not trying to brag but it isn't that hard. i'm averaging around a 90% in most of my classes and I need to maintain a 70% to stay in the school. but i do have to work really hard. it is a totally different world than undergrad and i different universe than high school.

a college you can only get your first two years of a degree, you then transfer to a university.

There are technical colleges, like the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. But most colleges in Canada are simply to make easier access to a higher education for smaller cities, and for those who don't have the grades for uni out of highschool.

Ya I'm a chemistry major..it sucks. HUGE Orgo exam tomorrow, been studying for 11 hours now, and I still feel like I hardly know it.

Ugh.

if anyone put in 100% effort, they can at least get a 3.5. honestly college is not that hard at all, third year accounting major here. i know its not as tough as engineering, but mostly people suck at college cause they fail at everything in life and cry about their classes

it really depends on your program, school, and how hard you are willing to work.

i just hate it when people come around saying college is soooo easy just to belittle someone who thinks college is hard.

haha yeah its all subjective but whatever after you work hard and do well eventually it feels good and if its easy then you are just having a good time then

meh, i've hated school since the first grade. but university isn't that hard, i study a couple hours a day between classes and have around a 3.4. i highly recommend you never try to do any studying in the dorms. go to the library, it just works a lot better (online quizzes are okay for your room, but they usually are super easy). it's all about study habits, or if your like me, learn how to slack on a collegiate level by utilizing free time between where you wouldnt do anything anyway. also you should look into advanced multitasking, haha.

I've been working much harder so far in college than I ever did in high school, however my mid-term grades at college have actually been much better than they usually were in high school.

Of course, if I had enrolled at Carnegie Mellon I would probably be working my ass off without the good grades to show for it.

It is not that hard if you go to a normal college or university. Try going to the Air Force Academy. It is tough as shit here. I took 24 credits last semester.

Yeah except that at the Air Force Academy your time is regimented to the point where you can't really get behind on your work. At least that is true for my buddy at Annapolis.

I'm in the honors college at UVM which adds an extra class and lecture on top of a full schedule.... so it's a lot to deal with and I'm always busy, but no it isn't actually that hard.

I'm sorry but you're really not allowed to bitch about how hard college is at UVM. My cousin was in the honors program there and cruised to a 3.7.
