So right now its 35 outside, bluebird sky, the snow is just sweeet here in Maine. Im at college and i havent skied in almost a month. Its bullshit. The mountain i can go to is about half an hour away, and its real cheap to ski. Problem is, I have no friends who ski here, so I have no1 to go with. I have tons of friends that snowboard but they are being severely gay and never want to go. I hate not having people to ride with here, its fuckin lame.

theres my rant,

any similar ruined lives out there?

I would rather be in college then working at Macdonald's. Luckily my school owns a ski hill. it is 2 min from my apartment. I would just get some new friends or make some at the hill.

Yea my life is ruined by college. o wait. no no its not. my ski season is ruined by being broken, i fucking love college. I mean, where else could you learn all the things that rhyme with ho so you can put them at the end of a party name. CEO's and corporate hoes, golf pro's and tennis hoes, pharaohs and egyptian hoes.

dude, im in the same boat here too. I'm an hour from stratton and already have a pass there, but i rarely can get a ride, it's so gay. I'm a freshman so I don't have a car, and it sucks having to find other people to get rides with

That stinks about not having anyone to ride with, My friend hurt his heels earlier in the year so I havent bine able to ride much cause I dont enjoy going alone, and he's the only one thats any fun to ski or board with.

i fucking feel for you buddy. college has consumed all of my fucking money i have 60 dollars to name to eat for the next week and a half. i havent skied in a month. it is bluebird and a decent park to go ski and i cant afford a fucking lift ticket. fuck school. i want my 5G tax return so i can go skiing again FUCK

College and gay in the same sentence doesn't really seem to work in my mind. Maybe you should stop bitching and figure it out yourself?

Yeah... I went to college for a couple years. I realized I was wrong in my decision and now live in Mammoth and shred everyday! I'm buying a sled and a new Tacoma this summer so I'm going to be tied down to payments for a good amount of time. I probably won't be able to afford college for a while, but at least I'll have cool shit and be able to shralp everyday. Ha! Fack.

wow... my college experience is completely different. I've skied almost everyday this semester and love it. Go out and try and find some people that shred everyday

Naw I go to University of Maine and the Mountain is Hermon, althought it can't really be called a mountain, more like a Hill.

But anyway, I decided id just go solo, took the half hour drive and buy my lift ticket for 11 bucks. Its about 3 when I do this, and their website says they are opened until 7, so thats when ill ski till. NOT. After the bitch takes my money she goes "Better get a move on, we close at 4." So i ride up their 2 feet per hour chairlift with some boarder ski patrol who seemed pretty chill. He's telling me that they finally have a park and that he's super pumped about it. He tells me there are 3 hits, 2 fairly big and 1 about medium size. So i get off the lift and take a run down the "park." I was amazed. The first hit was a mild "Bump" that really couldn't even be buttered it was so weak. The second "jump" was like a hip, only it was more like a little shallow roller with sticks all over it. The final hit was a table, only there was no jump, just a landing. So yeah, I told the boarder ski patrol that the park was really incredibly retarded, and he told me to "Talk to the Hand."

so that was fun. What a fuckin joke

And pussyfooter. When college takes all of your money, you actually go to class and carry alot of credits, study, and have exams, its not all fun. I haven't had a week since mid January that hasn't had at least a test and a paper due. The Parties are sweet, drinking is great, but when you can't sleep because you have so much shit to do, College Sucks.

sorta the same situation here, except my frineds who all snowboard as well usually want to go, just not first thing in the am. The hill near me also is closer, (about 10 minute drive). Usually if I can't find a ride with someone I just hitch hike. When people see you carrying skis they are more likely to pick you up.

wtf are you taking like 10000 credits? I'm getting 15 credits this semester and i can go skiing any day that i want to. I guess my classes aren't as hard as yours but it did it on purpose so i could have a relaxing fun winter. I have had two tests and one paper so far this semester, and i have a paper due this week. I have to read a fair amount for my classes but we end up discussing everything we've read about in class so i really can just skim everything and just pay attention in my 2-4 hour class i have that day (at 6pm). If you wanted to ski and have an easy time you should have made it that way, its not like high school where you can't choose. Next winter wont be as easy probably, but im having a good time while i can.

college is actually pretty easy, when i actually try to do well in a class, i do fine, it's just so time consuming which can make it frustrating as hell.

Yeah I used to have this same problem, and then I trasferred back to CO to the University of Denver (from Gonzaga) and I ski like at least 3 days a week. So you should probably just transfer out here! haha.

I dont know what your talking about college is fucking awesome. Would you rather be back in highschool living at home with your parents? College is the shit i dont ever want to leave.

i have the same problem, the mountain is an hour and a half away, i dont have a crew, and people only go on staurday, but still no crew, like 1 skier who isnt a gaper...

Both of you have it easy...I'm currently taking 22 credits hrs. Now thats a reason why one can't ski. Lemme tell you double majoring in music and biology isn't the easiest thing. And besides suffer now thru college and in the long run you'll be rewarded. Trust me its better to make 70 grand and up then 10 bucks an hr.

Bummer man, maine kinda blows. Come to UVM, shit is sick. I go skiing with the Freestyle ski crew like 3-5 days a week, plus i got like 18 credits. I guess you just need to find a better school or at least some better friends.

man i know what you mean. in my group of 5 people that i regularly ski with, 2 can drive but never do. they go up with their families once a week on the weekend, not even both days. it pisses me off so bad they are such pussies. then only 1 of those 5 want to go to the park with me, the rest are too afraid. next year=me driving, i dont care if i go by myself or anything...

I cant even register for 22 credits rofl, well up to 18 at first then more when everyone is done. Still though thats pretty crazy. Anyways I study hard with 15 credits and still have a lot of fun. Ski on the weekends plus a few powder fridays.

the way to do it is to do an extra semester or year and only take 12 credits in the winter semester. get a day or two of no school and just go out all the time. Not only do you ski more but you learn more in your classes because you are not just cramming between exams and for the next test.

heres where your wrong. college is not GAY, it is STRAIGHT.

I go to school in Los angeles. there is no snow. there is traffic all the time

i joined the biggest fraternity here at LMU. you think its gay, i think weekly i hit up clubs in hollywood with sorority beezies. oh yea and drink and smoke 5/7 days a week

i ski at big bear. its 2 hours no traffic. its 4 hours with traffic. its all park. do i complan, no, i make the situation better. if you cant ride snow, ride girls. and if snow is near, get there you beezy.

but theres still a lot of ppl that ski here no matter how broed out some of hem may be...and u cant beat the parks here

no offense dude, but it seems to me that the only thing stopping you from skiing is yourself. If you really cared about skiing you would go alone. I honestly hate people who feel they have to ski with someone. seriously, sack up and ski. way more kids have it worse than you who have reasons why they cant ski like injuries or living hours form the nearest snow... not some pussy reason like u have no friends

dude, some people can't go by themselves. I don't have a car and would LOVE to go by myself, I could care less, but I can't drive myself, which blows. I wont have my car until junior year.

dood half an hour is nothing...whats wrong w/ skiing by urself i do it all the time cuz i only gots like 3 friends who ski and sometimes they cant go so i just hit it up solo..u should try it it's pretty chill and u don't have to worry about slowing donw for ur friends.....ur the only one hurting ur self mann

what's worse is when you live in montana, there is good new snow, your hill is only 15 minutes away, you have pass, all your friends DO go to the hill, and you can't because you have to do architecture projects.

but the days I do get make it way better than maine

That is the plan for next winter. I actually talked to some random lady who said when she went to college she just took 4 3-credit tuesday thursday classes in the winter so she could ski rofl. Though I think Id rather take 2 real classes and some 2 credit, she said she was taking like swedish literature and crap.

I have two 3 credit classes and one 4 credit class + a semester of bowling class (2 credits) and ski instructor class (3 credits) so im taking 15 credits. I have class mon tues wed thurs at 6pm and for my instructor class i go 1-4pm at alta once a week on thursdays for 8 weeks, which is almost over, i can virtually go skiing whenever i want to. Night classes are clutch in ski season.

well there's your problem. no matter what your financial status is at the beginning of the season you should always buy a season pass because no matter how insanely broke you are for the rest of the year at college if you have a meal plan paid for and a season pass you can ski and live all year. Not to mention most college season passes take no more than like 6 days of riding to pay them off.

and college is what you make it, you can go wherever you want, study whatever you want, do whatever you want, and hang out with whoever you want.
