College In Utah = Shittiest Time Ever

I'm from the east and decided to come to Utah for the skiing not realizing how dull and shitty it was goning to be becasue of the mormons. There is no way I'm comming back but I really want to go to a school near really good mountains. Any suggestions? Any schools near Whistler? I need to go to a school where there is dope skiing and where people reserve thier Sundays for sleeping off hangovers instead of going to church. Boulder would be sick as hell but I heard out of state tutiton is really expensive.
 
So its really as bad as it seems? My friend is out there and says the mormons arent bad but i dont know if he tellin the truth.
 
yeah i was talking to my guidance counseler about utah today and hes like 25 years old so hes chill and he was tellin me it would be so wack and shit b/c you cant drink in utah, hes the coach of the school ski team and said he almost went to utah for college for the skiing then found out how gay it is off the slopes from a friend who graduated high school a year before him
 
shit you people need to quit bitchin about not being able to party 24/7. Utah is dope most people are super nice snow is epic, so what you cant go out every night and get drunk, there are more things in life to do than just party.
 
however, there are places you can do both. i'm going to school in san diego and it's fucking sick as hell but the closest place to ski is big bear, like 2 hours and 40 min away... not too convenient. a lot of my friends are from colorado though and they say you'd get nothing done in boulder b/c it's so outrageous, not to mention the out of state tuition blows
 
its not utah but all my friends that go to school around burlington vt. absolutely love it there awsome city and decent skiing
 
what about the state to the immediate right of utah? i can't remember the name of it. i think it means the color red in spanish or something...i dunno though. anywho...i hear it's a kickass time there.
 
Utah is sick, wtf are you talking about? i party every weekend and always doing shit on week nights...
 
since ive never been to utah ive never been able to experience mormons. how do they ruin everything? it seems like people are always taking about them so can someone please explain to me what it is they do to piss everybody off?
 
relax. trust me utah blows at first, give it a while. the mormons really arent to bad you just gotta wait till you get a good enough network to find those parties and only associate with those people who arent. also ski season aint here yet, ur mind will change hopefully. cuz honestly i hated it but you meet tonnnnns of people from skiing and you wont even care about it man. so just relax roll up a blunt and wait it out and ull be ok with it
 
Yeah Utah sucks. You should go home and never ski here, its getting too busy. Nobody should come to school here ever.
 
I love going to the U. Mormons aren't really a problem because they don't usually have any significance in my life. All the kids I talk to ski or snowboard and and I don't know any Mormons that seriously do either. I do have some in my class and it's not bad at all. Salt Lake City isn't as mormon as people think. It's no Provo where BYU is. I would encourage anyone to come to Utah, great place and great snow.
 
If you're going to let a single group of people keep you from doing what you like, then by all means go somewhere else. I don't go to school in SLC, but I went through there a few times last year and it's sick. The city is huge, so if you can't find anything to do you have nobody to blame except yourself. There's a bunch of ski areas right outside town and the Wasatch backcountry if you have AT gear or a sled. And best of all, it's 3 hours from Moab. And seriously, if you're going to school JUST for skiing and getting drunk you're wasting your money, in my opinion. Sure, there should be heavy emphasis on skiing and whatever else you do, but if that's all you want to do just go be a ski bum, it's super fun.
 
Is that a sick place cause Im applying there and U of U so Im kinda caught inbetween those two if I get into both

 
yeah i did the same thing last year.  went there to ski and go to school.... ended up leavin after the first term... it really is dull if your used to having any sort of social life.  and it wasnt just the mormons it wasmostly everyone who lived there was influenced my this so called religion.  i met some cool people for sure but nothing that made me want to stay.
 
well i grew up right next to burlington so i dont wanna go to uvm and i looked at u of u and wasnt a huge fan. its kind of a commuter school and only lik 3000 kids live on campus. i wouldnt mind really going there tho, i could get along with the mormons i think cuz im a pretty nice guy so they wouldnt really piss me off im sure i could make friends with them. my rents didnt really like it tho cuz they are not nice and hate mormons and think they are weird, but whatever. i apllied early decision to colorado college and to du also they were pretty cool

do you go to u of u becuase if you do you arnt trying i go to uvsc which is in utah county and party and drink every weekend and chill and smoke almost every day so you gotta get out there or something
 
it definitely didnt look that bad and its in a sick place, i just dont think im good enough at skiing to get in with the kids that are sick and go to pc everyday. ive heard there are only three or four big crews of skiers there and if ur not in one its over
 
Most pepole who bitch about the lack of partying in Utah live in Salt Lake City...come up to Park City and go out on main street. Tons of girls,booze,partying ect. Most of the time I only drink full strength beer you can get at any liquor store and by the way I have never met a morman in Park City in the past two years that I know of...
 
Ya, I heard that. I was gonna go to Boulder but then I heard that Utah was dope but then I thought "dood, there's no beer" so then I was like "i dunno because I wanna just party and drink alcoholic drinks and ski and have sex" but then I was like "ya what about Washington?" But then this guy told me no so I was like dude, I don't really care about getting an education so like ya California is nice this time of year but then I heard that skiing sucks everywhere so then I was like "shit" and then i heard mormon's screw everything up so instead i was gonna just go to a place where i could go to school and ski cause that would be dope. so where's good? i heard utah super boring but the skiing is so great except for that boulder is full of parties and people ski in boulder too right?
 
I swear the mormon shit is so overly hyped in a negative way.

I think a lot of you guys have a very jaded view of college and had expectations that were far too high.
 
Don't go to Boulder unless you live in Colorado. Don't listen to what is told to you on here, most of these people are just going off the freeskier magazine ratings of best college towns to ski.

$30,000 in tuition a year to go to party and ski? You'd have to be a moron. I got into Boulder with a 4,000 scholarship but I still decided flat out against it.

I live one hour from the best of Tahoe and pay about $700 a year in tuition, party and smoke every night that I feel like it.

Go to Sierra College, they even offer classes up in Truckee. I'm thinking about being a part time student next year and only taking classes in Truckee and working at Squaw. Its the ultimate answer for the ski bum who still wants to get some classes over with.
 
utah's the bomb and if you dont want to go there despite the skiing your probobly a hudge gaper and they dont want you there anyways.
 
yeah and there are more things in life than skiing. but its mad fun ill do it as often as i can, same argument.
