I got a D+ in Calc and I have to take Calc 2 next semester. My shitty excuse is that I havn't done math for a year before then, and I was pretty sick all semester, but all in all my fault. My gpa kinda blows, but I managed to get a great internship this summer through some family connections. I'm currently enrolled to retake it online right now, but its a semester crammed into 6 weeks, so it is pretty demanding. I work 40 hours a week staring a computer and the last thing I want to do is do math after working all day. I can drop the class and get my money back without a W on my transcript by the 12th (D+ still stays). My two main concerns are...

1) How will I do well in calc 2 if I struggled in Calc 1 (personal tutor ?)- I have basic concepts down

2) I may want to get an mba

don't do calc 2 in 6 weeks if you got a D+ in calc 1. you would be covering more content in half the time. if I was you i would retake calc 1 in 6 weeks if that's an option.

no sorry. that was my bad. I think that's a good option. You have already taken the course and it will probably be a lot easier if you put some work into it.

all true.

if you want an mba, calculus is critical. Calculus is like the cornerstone of any graphical analysis when it comes to learning business patterns. math is very important and you better fucking take your retake seriously for the class when you do it

Understanding the concepts of calc 1 very well is crucial in doing well in calc 2. Calc 2 really takes off quick once you get going. Plus an A is mich more appealing to people than a D+

UPDATE: Just finished up the last assignment, I currently have an A. The final is in a couple weeks so I have some extra time to study more. Feeling pretty good about it, except I still suck at integration by parts. I really can't thank you guys enough who pushed me to do this.

In my opinion calc 2 was the hardest out of the calc 1,2,3 so do yourself a favor and retake calc 1. If you struggle a lot with calc 1, calc 2 will really suck.

if you were good at the deriving and intergrating part of calc then take calc 2. calc 2 is finding the area under a cuve with integration, integration by parts, integration by sustition (trig functions) and other shit that i forget. i havnt taken calc 2 in over a year but if you are in engineering then make sure you keep up on your integrations and know what the hell you are doing bc you need to be verrrrrry good at integreation and deriving when you get to harder classes along the way. best of luck op

retake the course since it all builds on itself and is applicable

examples of redemption:

D in financial Accounting

A+ in Managerial Accounting

C in Stat 201

B in Stat 204 ( even got a 30% on the midterm)

OP clearly fucked around in high school to be learning math in college////// not its' application
