College Football Playoffs

The CFP poll has been out for a little bit now. Who do you guys think will be in and who will win it all? Who is gonna get snubbed? Who do you want to win?

Im pulling for Oregon which is saying a lot because I went to Oregon State. The ducks are just so damn good at football and have been for so long now. I like Mariota a lot too, he seems like a humble guy

Gonna be tough for any non-sec team to break into that top 4, oregon is there for now but they have some tough games coming up. Mariota is dope but defense isnt doing as well as they could.

Anyway, the 4 game playoff is almost as much of a joke as BSC. We need a top 16 playoff, I'm sure teams would play an extra 2 or 3 games for a real playoff...

I think if UO wins out they are in. They have a big game this weekend, then two crappy teams and the pac champ game. There defense is definitely their weak part...its pretty bad compared to the SEC. I want to see TCU vs UO

Luckily SEC teams usually have issues with defense as well, so it might work out for oregon. But its interesting to see pac 12 play eastern schools because arguably pac 12 teams always have great defense and SEC/ACC/BIG 10 (12?) are more about scoring 40-50pts per game.

If the irish win out i could see them making the national championship game.

They could beat oregon, florida state(they won that game last call was complete bullshit) tcu and bama. Mississippi state i cant speak for because i havent been paying attention to them but notre dame is most definitely a top 4 team

The rest of your post..... loolololol

The recievers made too much contact for too long but notre dame would have scored regardless of that call. The reciever who scored was wide open and would have been even if those corners were left alone. If the played again notre dame would walk all over florida state.

That team is over rated and pulls wins out of their ass at the last minute.

Its still a penalty, nothing else matters besides that. Dont cheat and ya win, simple.

Florida state wins at the last minute because thats when winston decides to show up and play to his full potential. Its not pulling wins out of their ass, its dominating the second half.

Notre dame will never get any respect until they sack up and join a big conference. They dont play good enough teams consistently

You even said it there. There was contact for TOO LONG. It doesn't matter if your receiver is wide open. Once a receiver continues to make contact after the initial hit, that is deemed offensive pass interference. This isn't the NFL. The ref made a very hard call to make, but the correct one. Everything is lined out right here:http://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/2jo1v6/lets_talk_about_pass_interference/

ND will not even make the playoff. There's a reason they're ranked #10. We all remember what happened when they went to the national championship. They just aren't fully there.

Watch out for Auburn, they play some damn good football.

I'd also love to see MSU make it for some B1G representation, but that's unlikely.

The question is, are they going to put 2 SEC teams in it, which IMO would be complete bullshit. It's crap that there are the power 5 conferences and not even every one of those conferences can be represented with the 4 team format, much less wildcards! I'm going to be so pissed when they pick two SEC teams and screw out like the Pac 12 or Big 10. And if the SEC is such a dominant conference then they will win it EVERY year, right? I don't want to watch a fucking regular season rematch of Auburn-Miss St as the championship game. And the SEC didn't even win it last year, and Alabama got rubbed out pretty well by Oklahoma as well and god knows if they had the 4 team format last year, OU would have never been there and there were lots of people pissed that Alabama didn't make the BCS championship.

They should do 8 teams and be done with it.

Right now I'm seeing it be like FSU, TCU, Miss St and OU.

FSU, Oregon, TCU, and Miss. State are what i'm hoping for. Notre Dame is overrated every year, i just hope Alabama doesn't win again. Ready to see a new team win it.

In notre dame's defense Alabama was unstoppable that year. I whole heartedly believe notre dame would put up a fight with any team this year.

FSU did not destroy notre dame, it was a game till the very end and a game in my opinion the irish should have won.

I agree that the irish need to join a respectable conference but in my honest opinion they are a team that deserves a spot in the playoff bracket.

They need to do something more like the basketball bracket. I'm not saying a 64 team bracket, but a bracket where teams who win the MAC, WAC, Conference USA, etc, get a shot too. Everyone loves a Cinderalla story and there is no chance for that in the FBS.

For example this year with Marshall, they could win out and not even get a look for a playoff. I would love to see a Cinderella story like Butler in FBS, but I doubt it'll ever happen.

32 would be dope, but thats ALOT of games. theyd have to start the season a couple weeks earlier and then go until February and the networks would NOT be stoked on some bullshit college playoff taking over the NFL playoffs.

Even if you argue that the team is good enough to be in the top 4 and therefore be in the playoff (which i don't think they are), i just don't think they've had the dominance this year to justify a spot in it at this point. They barely beat UNC and Navy, and those are both teams that any elite team would blow out. They really only have two wins this year by a significant margin, and the one time they had to prove themselves as an elite team (against FSU) they lost.

Marshall might be able to win one game...and one game only. Absolutely no chance they could get through a playoff with the likes of Bama, Auburn and Oregon

I feel like 16 would be perfect

i dont think they will ever be able to have more than an 8 team playoff, and idk if we will ever even see that happen. It would just be too many games and as eheath said it would cut into the nfl playoffs. That along with all the bowl games would just get to be too much. The bowl games already span over the course of almost a month.

They probably would get their ass kicked, but teams don't even get a chance to go down in history as a great upset to win anything. I don't know though, I was just spit balling.

Ideally they'd turn the Playoff matchups into "bowl games" basically if you're top 32 now you get a bowl games, so you'd still play but then you have the chance to play more as you win. Sponsors would be stoked I think, but thatd take years to put into motion.

so like if you won a bowl game, you get to play in another bowl game? interesting. I bet there would be a lot of upset programs that consistently make bowl games but arent consistently in the top 32.

Like you said though, i dont see anything changing with this 4 team playoff for years. They need to give this a try and see how it plays out before they even think about switching it or adding on to it

Yeah or they might be super stoked cause they usually get some jewbowl before jan 1st and would be stoked to TRY and play after jan 1st.

assuming schools would still get the same amount of money as they do now for going to bowl games, etc.

Man, no love for Oregon. Maybe its because I see them every week and have for the past decade im the only one who realizes just how unstoppable they can be.

Maybe a few years ago with chip...

Oregon is usually pretty good but we'll see if they get a chance, it's likely they'd get stomped.

If Chip was coaching Mariota they wouldnt have lost to Arizona. This is the Ducks last chance. This new coach isnt chip and once Chips guys are gone for good Oregon is gonna go down hill real fast

I see what you're saying and i agree...somewhat. But they were in the game with FSU until the very end and put up a winning touchdown.

It's not like notre dame CAN'T compete with elite teams because they sure as hell can. But in the end they lost and that's all that matters.

ND will have a huge bowl game though and i'll be a happy camper to see them win out and get a nice bowl game.

If auburn makes playoffs i'll be rooting for them to win it all.

Currently a 4 team playoff for 5 power conferences and right now 3 out of the top 4 are from the same conference, ya that's not going to last.

I say for an 8 team playoff. All power 5 conference champs get an auto invite, 2 at large power 5 bids, and last bid goes to highest ranked team from a non power 5.

Or a 16 team playoff. All power 5 conference champs get an auto bid. The rest are added in their order of rank.

With sponsorship money and what not I don't see normal bowl games going away any time soon, so count on normal bowl games happening if the playoff actually is lengthened.

I think it is going to be FSU, Auburn, Oregon, TCU. Alabama may beat LSU, but they still have Miss. St. and Auburn left. Miss. St. has Alabama and Ole Miss left and I think they will take a loss. Auburn's win against Ole Miss on the road was huge and has definitely given them so confidence. Their hardest game of the season will be the Iron Bowl, but I have faith they can come out on top. Oregon only has Utah left to play and once they do that they can coast through the rest of the season insuring them a top 4 seat.

I agree on only one sec team getting in. MissSt, bama and auburn are all going to eat each other alive and only one will make it out.

oh how i would love if they all came out with 2 losses and none of them made it into the playoff

Exactly what I was thinking. For football, 16 is too many they would really have to eat into non-conference play at the beginning of the year for that. In order for a 4 team playoff to work, they need to balance it out between the conferences which they already can't do with 4 teams and if they want to pick two SEC teams out of 4, they can eat shit and die. Upsets me so bad but it's football, they get away with everything because it's America's sport and we'll watch it anyways. Just like NFL overtime.

Safe to say im pretty embarassed to be a notre dame fan today..

Everette golson you can kiss your heisman chances goodbye. What a pathetic game. Get to a 3 point game then you throw another interception and blow it.

If notre dame had any slim chance of making it in theyre long..long gone.

Hope auburn pulls out or this texas a&m game with a W

I hate to say it but bama is winning the championship. Miss State was my favorite but after the ass whooping that Bama gave them I can't see it anymore
