College football or skiing?

honestly, i say football. like a guy a few posts above me said, skiing will be there when you're out of college, football will not. this is a once in a lifetime shot, and if you really love football, then you can live with a coach screaming at you, and the intensity of the workouts.

skiing is great, but sometimes you have to look at things in perspective. because if you decide not to play, in 10 years you could be looking back saying, "i really wish i took that opportunity, i would kill for that right now."

alright i dont know if you guys really care or not but i talked to the coach and explained my situation and he said "Turn in your equipment or we will put a hold on you bursar's account." and thats it. I was hoping we could work something out where i work out at a different time to fit my schedule but he basically gave the impression of fuck you youre wasting my time. haha looks like i come out the winner though. Skiing 5 days a week and getting good grades so i can go to grad school sounds pretty nice. I had a good run with football and i can always say i played D1 football for 2 seasons and then moved on.

i quit football, swimming, and baseball for skiing, i didn't like the mindset of the team, if you don't do good you get punished, and the obligations of practice and weights were a burden.

i've never been happier about any other decision i've ever made

it was the special teams coach. You hardly ever talk to the head coach when you are a walk on.

Its different at every school, but thats what I expected.

I really think it should work differently than that. Head coaches should know every player on the team, and should actually care about that player.

hate to sound like a jerk but its called d1sports.

at the d1 level, athletics are an industry not a game.

i played d1 lacrosse and then when i was done, moved out to utah to take some classes at the u and ski. when i played lax, if the coaches found out we went skiing, you were kicked off the team no if ands or buts.

chose what you want to do. sports or skiing. there is no two. in my opinion, play the sport and ski after. you have a once in a lifetime opportunity and when you are older, do you really want to say you passed it up because of a few strength coaches doing their jobs and making you work?
