College essay topics

Alright so I'm starting to apply to schools ans am trying to come up with some good essay topics. Most of the colleges that Im applying to use the common app. But I want a really quirky topic that'll help me to stand out like "how hard it is to be an upper middle-class white male in todays society..."

any suggestions??

start off by quoting ben folds: "Let me tell ya'll what its like, Being male, middle class and white"

Actually, don't do that. If you do choose to use that as your essay topic you'll have to write very carefully to not come across as arrogant, racist, spoiled, and bratty. What are you reasons why its so hard being upper middle class?

Its probably better to choose a safer essay that might not stand out as much but at least won't sink your application completely if the reviewer disagrees with your stance.

Use a good hot button topic like globalization. Academics eat that stuff for breakfast.

i'd tell u what mine was, but then anyone would be able to see it and use it, and then i wouldn't be the only one to ever do it.

i don't like to brag, but it will be the best essay any college essay-reader person will read.
