I go to the shittiest place on the planet and i need some suggestions on where to transfer too, i would love to be able to shred. Thanks guys and FUCK IOWA ST
 
I go to Northern Michigan University. Its very reasonably priced, great skiing (midwest standards), even better mountain biking, and they have great programs depending on what your looking to go into. Its not what your looking for if you want to party at a big state school, but its a legit school. My favorite thing about it is doing this everyday after class.

Plattsburgh State! SUNY school,I believe we were just named like 2nd best SUNY school also? mad close to Whiteface(50mins). If you are a full time student, season passes are I believe $280. Plus we have every mtn in Vermont about an hour away.
 
I thought I recently read that in our local paper, what I could find was it was one of the best "bang for your bucks" schools... forgive my falseness.
 
NMU, Marquette is an awesome town and Marquette Mt is as good as it gets for Michigan. Skiing in the winter, mtb and kayaking on Lake Superior in the Summer, and if you camp, there are so many ridiculous camp sites on Lake Superior. Plus its cheap.

Was here for a year and couldnt stand it one bit...

By far one of the worst SUNy schools by far. Horrendous academics with 0 on campus recruiting. The school isn't that nice, the food is awful, and the kids who go there are all stoners and skaters. I am a pretty preppy kid and stood out because I wore "nice" clothes. It takes like a -1.0 to get into this school

It seems like you weren't open to making friends. Little pretentious. To be honest, sounds like you're the problem. There are way more worth it Suny schools then that.

Kids look at me like im a loser when commuting on board or bike or when im the only kid ever in a cast.

Newschoolers is a foreign concept too
 
check out UVM, huge selection of mountains all within an hour or two from campus, awesome college town and a lotta cool kids who go there. i've been loving every second of it
 
kids at my school wear jibberish or saga sweatshirts tall tees

and don't even ski, ride or anything where you could get hurt
 
Killington is a solid 60-80 minutes away depending on winter weather. Stowe, Smugs, Bush, Bolton, MRG are all much closer

Your in school for school, not to ski. Unless your going to tell me your on the school team, or some bullshit.

Get over yourself. If you want to ski so fucking bad, than leave and have daddy pay.
 
yeah, if you're at uvm you're not gonna be skiing killington, 80 minutes is even generous, its upwards around two hours to get there
 
uvm is like an hour from anywhere decent (bush, stowe, jay, mrg, smuggs) and really expensive for out of state, and tough to get into. burlington is fucking awesome tho
 
Look into VA Tech. We have one of the better business schools in the country and have to ski clubs. We go to Liberty Snowflex center every weekend and rent multiple condos at snowshoe and ride there on the weekends in the winter. If you really want to ski year round at a minimal cost, VA Tech is the place to go.
 
less than 40 minutes to stowe, like 20 minutes to bolton, 40 minutes to smuggs, 50 minutes to sugarbush, a little over an hour to jay peak... UVM's ski and snowboard club is the second biggest in the states (topped only by Boulder's), and if you join the freeski team you have vans to and from the mountain 7 days a week. I think its safe to say that UVM is a pretty fucking rad place to be if your a skier...
 
If things turn out as they should I should be going to colby in Maine, within reasonable distance of sugarloaf, which will be a hell of a lot better than anything in the midwest.
 
You go to ISU and aren't a member of ski club? Literally one of the largest ski clubs in the nation. Your clearly an anti-social kid if you don't thoroughly enjoy life in Ames.
