Colorado State has an awesome vet school but you're still 2-2.5 hrs from the mountains unless u go BC at cameron pass

u of u has a really good medicine program, plus you are half an hour from like 6 resorts

what, western state college of colorado, one of the best bio departments in the state, plus crested butte, backcountry, rails, you name it we got it. Check it out you'll never leave! until next time!

LEFTSIDE

CU, University of Colorado at Boulder, has a huge engineering dept. nearest resort is 30-45min. and all the big places Breck keystone etc are two hours away.

MOntana state is one of the best engineering schools in the nation. It also has really great skiing, that is 20 min away. You should deffinatly check it out. MSU is located in bozeman, it has bridger bowl and bigsky near by.

Girls are not allowed to fart or burp, therefore we must bitch or else we will explode

University of Utah. it is chill and you have the best choises for types of riding. there med school is good, and the enginering program is good too. Plus if you want you can party, but it isn't so distracting that you will never go to class. you might not go cause of skiing, but is chill.

Are some skiers trying to copy snowboarding?

Tanner: There\'s a small group of people that are doing that, but I think for the most part, there are a bunch of Rollerbladers and skiboarders that are being gay.

I'm at UNR and it's ok 30- to 45 mins from resorts. med school here is nothing great but the engineering is ok. Go for the U of U. awsome med school and I don't know about engineering. but it is 15-30 mins from some of the best skiing in North America.

a conversation between two skiers:

skier 1 ' have you seen those new skis with the tips in the front and back yet'

skier 2 'no but I heard about those things'

Skier 1 ' yeah I don't see why they would want tips in the back...maybe they are try'n to copy those stupid snowboarders or something like that'

skier 2 'Yeah seems like kind of a stupid idea.'

Check out UAA (University of Alaska Anchorage) in Anchorage, Alaska. Best skiing on earth. Hundreds of 1st descents. 2 ski resorts right in town and one of the best ski resorts in the USA only 20 minutes away. Cool city & great school.

Tim

University of Colorado at Boulder and University of Washington are the ones that usually come to mind. Also USC is something like 2-3 hours from Big Bear/Snow Summit. One or two of the Ivy League schools are also relatively close to ski areas.

I used to think skiing and college mixed well together. They don't, and learning the hard way SUCKS. Don't do it. Just go skiing. College is a waste.

university of memphis... let me tell you.. i know from experience... mountains are only a few days away and everyone is ghetto and u dont even have to worry about getting ur skis stolen

I applied to UVM, Saint Mike's, and Lyndon State. Did anyone else apply to these beasts or are currently going there.

Better option... See if you can defer admission for a year after being accepted. Then do a full season of all out bumming without having any of the college BS getting in the way.

I applied to UVM, CU, and some other good school things, but I ended up going to CU. Engineering here is great, one of the top programs in the nation and eldora is real close with an ill pipe, then we got breck, vail, keystone and whatnot all under 1.5 hrs away. and a ridiculous number of hot girls.

lets see i did uvm, unh, plymouth stae, and northeastern, i like where plymouth is the best, 25 minutes from my ski house and right near waterville, cannon, tenney, and loon

plus if you go to the U of U you are 6hrs from Vegas, most good CO resorts, Jackson, and there is way tight camping all over. good biking right behind campus. there is no trafic. and tuition is way cheap compared to CU boulder.

Well, right around me there are some really smooth engineering programs at Cal Tech and Harvey Mudd College. You're not going to do any better than that for engineering. That leaves you within a close drive to Big Bear, which is okay, and striking distance of Mammoth on weekends. So I don't think anyone would complain about the skiing, even if it isn't as nice as Utah or Montana.

Yep, Jib_This knows where its at. College and skiing don't work. Esp. if you want to do med, or eng?!

Hehe, I decided to give up college for skiing (for now)! If you want to take either of them even remotely seriously - you can't have both.

University of Utah has a killer med program, and you are a 20-30 min drive from Park City, Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, The Canyons

I just started Montana State University in Bozeman and it's fuckin sweet. Jackson Hole is like 3 hours on dry roads. Big sky is like 45 minutes to an hour and Bridger Bowl is all of 20 minutes. Plus it's one of the best architecure and graphic design schools and nursing schools in the nation. Fuck yeah!!! fuck the griz, go cats!!!!!!!!

........................................

I'm sitting gettin my brain examed like i'm a deranged man with the strangest plan......

haha yeah by buddy got accepted there ^.. he's actually going there tomorrow (we live in PA). Anyways, i figure if i get a good education and a good job NOW, i will have the money to go on ski vacations later.. I'm going to PSU for Engineering next year and it's just more important than skiing is when i really sit down and think about it.

thanks a bunch guys

I goin to USC they give good cash if you are poor or good student. $300 buys you unlimited lodging in mammoth with the ski/snowboard club. And $400 buys you unlimited skiing at mammoth. Good deals, hot chicks, and a big mtn. And warm all year round in LA (I wore sandles and tshirt today)

Representin Hood at Mammoth

im at Penn State, which has an insane wngineering department, and nearly 98% job placement, but real shitty skiing!!!

pretty much anything in Washington state is cool and a lot cheaper than CU boulder which would be the #1 pick one its a mad party school and rwo its like 45 minutes away from something like 5 ski resorts. but Western washington university is pretty pimp

the magazine is called 'POWDER' cool! - my stupid non-skiing friend

Medical school + school = suicide. I really don't think its possible to do both on a normal basis. Maybe you'll get to ski every once and while. I want to go to med school but I don't plan on skiing except for like christmas break.

-Pat

U of washington they are 2 hours from stevens and about 2.5 to baker

Well, if you're looking at California, University of California at Davis is your best bet. It's right next door to Sacramento, so there's plenty to do, plus Tahoe is only 1.5 hrs away. And the coldest it gets in Davis in the winter is 40 degrees (read: no snow). Davis is known for its wine making, vetrinary, and aggricultural departments.

Also, most Southern California schools (such as UCLA, UCSD, SDSU, UCSB, USC) have ski teams that commute to Mammoth almost every weekend. I go to UCSB and go to Mammoth all the time, and it's great.

whoever just mentioned UW and didnt say anything about Crystal Mtn being nearby, im ashamed. Crystal rocks stevens so hard its ridiculous. UW has a hella good engineering and medical schools. but then you have to wear purple all the time, and you dont want to do that now do you? mabye Crimson and grey (WSU) would be better? yes, i thought so.

well I've gotten accepted to Santa Clara do I have any chance of doing some skiing anywhere near there? I might have to apply to U of U after hearing all this.

santa clara is at least 3+ hours from any skiing. good school though if you can handle that distance. and yes it did snow in davis once 2 years ago

don't go to nevada at reno. reno is a dirtty ass place. plus when you are 21 you will spend aal your money in casinos.

University of Utah is the best bet if you care more about skiing than anything else. you can still party and there are more options in types of skiing.

all the resorts have college passes. it is only 22 miles to the bird and 35 or so to PC from campus. pc is all highway driving too. and who ever said boulder is 45 minutes to 5 resorts. what resorts are that? and is that time at 4 in the morning?

first of all, whoever takes 2 hours to get to key from Boulder is a fucking pussy when driving on I-70, or doesn't know that you can take hwy 6 up to the Golden exit. It takes me 2 hours to get to key from CSU and thats in Ft. Collins. Second, I highly doubt that Wasted State has one of the best bio departments in the state. You need to come to CO because it's off the fucking chains

CO is where its at bitches

utah shoudln't even be considered a part of the us. the people there are all totally sketchy mormons. the best place to go is cu. the scene here is much better than you could ever imagine, especially compared to u of u or anyplace in montana. not to diss, but seriously, think about it.
