Colby Sawyer?

So i just visited this college over the weekend and i really liked it, plus it's on the tuition exchange program so basically i get a big discount because my dad works at Bard college. Anyway, anyone have any experience with this college, thoughts, etc... It's only like 15 minutes away from good skiing so that's a huge draw for me. I liked the vibe, it seemed laid back and not preppy at all, plenty of skateboarders, a good amount of smokers(that's the vibe i got), and cool/unique programs and facilities. How are the academics- I want to study psychology and i plan on going to graduate school so i need to know if going here is going to lower my chances of getting in to a good school later down the road. How are the parties? Lots of skiiers(snowboarders are cool too)? Any other info would be appreciated. -Right now i'm looking at St. Mikes in Winooski, colby sawyer, maybe UVM(money is an issue), maybe middlebury(might not get in), and maybe Keene state. Thanks for any help you can give me.

hey man, i went to colby sawyer for 4 and a half terrible years. why i dunno. it is a high school. mostly everyone there acts like a high school kid. and you still have fabulous cliques. there are a few skateboards most of which longboard. and there are a bunch of regular skiers and boarders but as far as park riders there are very few. as far as the skiing nearby, youve got sunapee which is an ok mountain. the park is getting better. In terms of academics. the school isnt too bad. theres shitty teachers and good ones, its kind of luck of the draw there. i dont know the psych department well but i dont think it is a well known field at colby-sawyer. Art, nursing and excercise sports science are the big degrees there. Party up there can be ok once and a while but are nothing like they used to be a few years ago. if i were you i would definitly check out UVM or st. mikes... both i would say are better schools. Good luck.

oh yah and the only leisure activities to do around there are drive to concord or leb nh which are 1/2 hour away and theres not much to do there. then theres skiing... other than that you can drink or smoke yourself retarded. thats bout it to do.

Since your looking in the VT and NH area you should def look into Plymouth State Univertsity. Im a freshman here and so far i have loved every moment of it. not too big but not too small like 6k kids i think. Tons of parties, girls are hot, lots of snowboarders and skiiers, classes arent too bad. and the best part is the mountains around. loon, waterville, both within 40 minutes or so not even. then there is also cranmore, bretton woods and cannon that are near school. i'd look into it. you can pm me or post here and i answer some questions if you want

i no nothing about colby sawyer but if you want that skating, smoking, park skiing vibe, then UVM has that covered

try keene state college.

i got a couple friends at colby sawyer and as far as i kknow they like it. one kid even transferred there fomr another school so it seems good. what other schools you looking at?/where are you from?

ummm...i thought colby sawyer was like all girls...sry if im wrong...def. apply to UVM though...shits tight nd plenty of places to ski

i know a kid whos snowboards and is a freshman there.

but ive never been to colby so sorry thread creator....

yeah i just finished my app for UVM but it's so expennnsivvvveeeeeee, that's my top choice but really i don't think i'll be able to afford it unless some serious financial aid comes along.
