COC or Momuntum!!

i went to coc last year, and the park was just amazing, anything you could think of they had. But I have heard that momentum has much better coaches and that you will progress much more at momentum. I think i might go to momentum this summer

oh and the t-bar coc uses can get a little crazy since it shares it with the public park, and all the snowboarders that go to coc. Either way, I am sure you will have a blast

momentum has better coaches, and their hotel is right in the middle of the whistler village, COCs jump line is better, and all momentum had for jumps last year was a table with a 10ish, 30ish, and 50ish footers all on it, a 120 foot stepdown, and a 80 foot step over so unless they step it up, is might go to coc this year

Momentum has really nice hotel rooms, with a full kitchen, a tv, a pool, and a tramp in the back

I'm not sure who CoC's coaches are but in my experience Momentum's are great, they genuinlly care about you and your performance such as watching film and doing the trick your trying to do as opposed to something they would rather try they also give each group a new coach everyday unlike other camps

They also have a private t bar as opposed to CoC

Momentum also has great and innovative terrain, such as their jumps, the wallride, and their rails

Their rails are also dope, up rail, one with a gap in it, one that kicks you, flat downs, double kinks, and more simply put g star raw

Momentum also has really great afternoon activituies such as: climbing, biking, waterramping, an assortment of sports, sky lining, skatepark, wakeboarding and an assortment of other things i cant think of

Momentum also is skiers only

So

If I were you I would go to momentum but I want you to go to CoC so Momentum is less crowded

I have been to Momentum for the previous two years so if you have an questions feel free to pm me

COC t bar is a full on zoo. It takes dayyys to get to the top of the lane. Momentum for sure. better coaches, no boarders, less people=more hits and more laps.

high north is ballllin.. too bad its dead. i would have gone back there every year :/ i would go COC though their coaches are awesome and their park is sick, either one though will be awesome

What camp actually has the most skiing because if im going to go halfway across the country to a camp i could care less about the activities im only coming to ski...

I would say momentum has more skiing I ski from about 7:45 to 3:00

Mometnum also has less campers and a private t-bar meaning less time waiting and more time skiing they also have water ramps and tramps for practice

no dude, its not about the skiing, the activities and friends you meet and chill with are the best part. if your going just to ski you will miss out on the best part!!

^Not necessarily true, what's wrong with the COC coaches?

Both are great. You cannot lose either way. Use the searchbar, as this was discussed fairly recently and had a lot of good replies.

i went to momentum 2 summers ago and it was fun and i good expirence for my first camp, but looking back on it i would deff not go back. MOST (not all) of the coaches were all about themselves. I didnt feel like they were really there to be helping kids learn, they seemed to be there only for themselves. We had video review every night and only like 4 out of the 7 nights coaches actually showed up for my groups video review. It sucked. We would just sit there and wait and wait and no one would ever come to go over our video. But the hotel was nice. Not a whole lot going on as far as jumps. deff seemed like COC had much more jumps. I have had numerous friends go to COC and say they loved it and got alot out of it.

COC's park puts the Momentum park to shame. Everything above about the T-bar is true. The coaches are all sick at both and basically you get what you put into it. If you ask them to teach you new tricks, they will teach you new tricks. If you don't ask, they probably won't teach you. Both have sick after-riding activites and such sick vibes. Only thing is COC is now in Staff Accom. and it is ghetto with bunkbeds and the mattress springs stab your back which sucks after a hard day of shredding and it's far from the village. Momentum is right in town and has pimp hotel rooms. I've gone to COC the past 3 years and it's sick except for where you sleep and i think sleep is important when you are skiing all day and then after-riding activities. Both will be the time of your life. Sorry it got long.

We'd be stoked to have more NS peeps come ski with us @ COC. One big difference between COC and Momentum is the size of the park size. Our area is the biggest on the glacier and is 100% park features. Plus the pipe is right in the middle of our park so you can get a few pipe hits in between the rail and jump lines.
Progression is more about the campers than the coaches. Like that old saying, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. So, you can bring a skier to a jump, but you can't make them try any new tricks. At either camp you have to work with your coaches to progress. Tell them what you to learn, ski with them, they'll teach you and you have to try throwing it down. In the rare case that you do have a coach that does not express any interest in coaching, let us know and we'll put you in with a different coach. If we don't know you're not happy, we can't help you.
You'll have fun at either camp, but we just think you'll have more fun with us!

I'd have to say the CoC park is absolutely amazing. The amount of maintenance they put into all the features is definitely commendable. Everything was setup perfectly and they were constantly mixing things up. The vibes are good at the CoC dorm, you're always surrounded by other riders and they have the tent. The T-bar situation at momentum is better and it's tough to beat their hotel location. At both camps, if you want to learn something, the coaches can teach you.

You're going to have an epic time at either camp!

at momentum you stay at a sick hotel in the middle of whistler and for meals you eat at a different restaraunt every night and its all included in the camp fee

I guess I am definitely biased to Momentum.. but here is why:

- Our hotel is by far the best. In the middle of the village and way better than staff housing (COC).

- Coaches.. well, you can figure out the line-up.

- You can do AT LEAST 10 times more laps in a day. We basically have a pricate T-bar.

- Our terrain gets better every year..

I'm obviously biased for COC as well, and those are great points, but there are two sides to every coin.
We used to stay in a hotel, but they are ridiculously expensive. It's ultimately a question of where do you want your money to be spent and what is going to make you a better skier? A hotel ? Or more hours in park and pipe grooming, with more diggers to ensure the park always in perfect shape and new rails to session every summer? If you simply compare a hotel to basic staff, then yes the hotel may seem better, but only on the surface. We gut the staff buildings and then pimp them out, plus add our own private compound with features like a 40ft wide miniramp and rockband battles on 60 inch flat screens and a 2,600 watt sound system.
You can do more laps at Momentum, but the showcase side of the glacier is shorter, so there are less features to session in one lap. You can session session a lot more features in one lap on the Horstman side of the glacier (where we are) vs. the showcase side. Also our pipe is right in the midde of our park, so you can session park features and a pipe in one lap, which you can't at Momentum.
Lastly our lane space is all park and pipe, no moguls, so there are more features to session on any given day in the park or any given park lap. Ultimately you'll have an amazing time at either camp, but there are some significant differences between the two that you will want to research before you chose one or the other.

they are both awesome in different ways. it depends on what you are looking for. everything you are asking is relative...you need to be more specific. if you are looking for better jumps go to coc, if you are looking for big name coaches go to momentum. you need to say what you are looking for, if you don't know then you need to figure it out. how much money can you spend? what dates of the camps work better for your schedule?

no matter which one you go to you will have the time of your life...but you gotta figure out what you want out of camp first.

Everyone are talking about the fabulous jump line of coc and it very huge for sure but what about the rails at coc compared to momentum???

I went to Momentum this summer for my first ever ski camp, to be honest it was amazing, there hotel was ballin (even though my longboard got jacked, If you are on here I would like it back) restaurants are different every night, food was semi-decent, off hill activities were fun, lots of choices. Coaches were good (Chris Turpin for the most part RED DEER Represent!). There park was alright, ecxept in order to ht the 90 foot step up you couldn't ht any thing else, there needed to be rails after it or something there park was decent, HOWEVER, I couldn't help but drool over COC's park everytime I looked at, but I couldn't justify waiting in that line for 30 minutes a run, sometimes 50 minutes at the end of the day.
COC +'s-Sick Park!
Momentum +'s-Hotel-Food-Coaches-Better over all feel
Momentum is kind of frustrating me though. They don't necessarely keep there promises.... such as:-No Headphones!-No Freeskier Subscription-Something else that escapes me that wasn't in the goody bag....
All in all, Momentum's off hill experience is top notch, but COC's park is top notch so it's hard to choose which one this year. I think I will be going to Windells this year because it seems to me they have both pretty well balanced.

P.S.
Loach, you said you spend money on keeping your park in better shape instead of hotel rooms, I was thinking you guys should save up money over the next couple years and invest in a T-bar of your own, then you wouldn't have to share with the public park and dave murray and such. Just a thought.

If your going up there to ski, and not worried about the coaches. Go to COC because there park is awesome. They have a good jump line and there rails arent on a 45 degree slope.

freeskier and skullcandy dropped the ball on that one. also freeskier emailed everyone and fixed it and now everyone will be getting a two year subscription becuase they realized they messed up. but you had to tell them you wanted it...if you dont check your email cant help you. also skullcandy is in the process of sending out headphones. they are not the custom momentum ones that they promised but they are black and green and come with a bandana and neklace bling bling chain thing. i got mine this weekend so im sure yours is on the way. both of those were out of the hands of john and everyone...they were just telling you what thier sponsors told them they would have for everyone.

Why? Doesn't COC have coaches too? Oh! You mean coaching, like regimented drills and stretching and classes and such?
